Re: Does anyone run Linux?
I used to run slackware 10 years ago before xwindows or any of the GUI was developed for it. It was all command prompt interface. I ran a small server on it. Haven't messed with it in years.

Linux is open source free ware that is created by computer gurus all over the world. It is used by major companies for computer networks and applications, even in the defense industry for military application. But anyway, I do networking for my job and got used to the interface and decided to put it on my computer. You can view the desktop and menus on google images by typing linux, but mine is Unbuntu to be more specific. I compare it to Mac, and I like it a hell of a lot better than Windows so far. It can do virtually anything and there are apps for everything you can imagine. It has gotten much better over the years and is now a superb operating system, and it is FREE. Plus, you don't have to worry about viruses. I am running a dual boot system with Windows 7 so I can use it if I need to, but so far no need.

Well, I would say that is correct. I had an iPhone 3GS and loved it, but now that I have been on the Droid for 6 months I will never go back. Again, this has to do with the world of Linux and open source in general. I use my phone for its full advantage. I will be able to FTP files from my phone to my computer at home once my server is complete, and now that I have Linux everything will be directly compatible. Thus, soon I will be accessing all of my files off any of our computers at the house from my phone, which is amazing in itself. A co-worker of mine is already doing so with his Linux network.
