I met Louie at a power lifting meet around 10 years ago. I benched 545 or 555 raw at 270. Some bold dude after I lifted came up to me and starting talking, congratulating me. After about 30 seconds I asked, who are you? Who looked stunned and my spotter/friend said this is Louie Simmons!!!!! He could not believe someone my height and being lean could lift that weight. My buddy was kinda of embarrassed I did not know who he was.....But Louie and me talked about 20 minutes, He introduced me to some of his lifters. Very nice guy. HARDCORE to the extreme but extremely innovative, sharp and one of the best.

20 years ago I attended a seminar in Cleveland that was put on by Louie Simmons and Charles Poliquin. Louie was always quoting some Russian scientist that he was studying.
I ended sitting at the same table as them at lunch. I saw an empty seat next to Poliquin and asked if anyone was sitting there and he said no so I sat next to him during lunch. Cant say I remember anything else. Now theyre both dead. Damn sad.
