Thor for the win. It was pretty crazy. I honestly didn't think either of them would make it the full 6 rounds. I figured one of them would get knocked out or one would gas out and just fall, but they both went the distance.
It was obvious from the start that Eddie had no technique at all whatsoever. Thor actually looked somewhat like a boxer and basically out boxed Eddie. All Eddie really did was just throw heavy right arms trying to knock him out. He didn't/couldn't keep both hands up and looked really sloppy. I think he tired out pretty quick compared to Thor. He looked worn out after the first round. After all the smack talking he did pre-fight I expected so much more.
Thor looked more like a boxer. You could tell he worked heavily on his technique and had a game plan. He took advantage of Eddie's weaknesses and it definitely paid off. He knocked Eddie down twice and put a couple cuts above his eyes. All in all it was better than I expected.
Thor's reach was the prob for Eddie. He just could not get in. The right Jab was there all night long for Thor and he pumped it. Eddie loaded up with shots but never landed one clean enough to do real damage. Honestly I was expecting them to just throw haymakers but it was a legit boxing match albeit lower tier. Nothing like one of the top HW pro boxers.
At least that is what I see from the highlights.
boring as all hell to me. suprised at how small of a turnout the crowd was. i have been to local fights in my area that were 3x bigger.
I was thinking the same thing. It didn't look like there were many people in the audience. I figured that place would be packed after all this time, but with it being postponed I guess everyone got tired of waiting and just forgot about it.
Next up in the world of comedic boxing.... Martyn Ford vs. the Iranian hulk lol. I don't see this being anything other than Martyn embarrassing him into oblivion.
Yeah Thor's reach was a huge advantage. Eddie even resorted to doing this weird leaning over thing I'm assuming trying to bring Thor closer to him. If he would have connected with a couple of those heavy right arms he threw, I think they would have done some serious damage. He just didn't have the skill to work them in.
