Every so often we have to post about the rules and regulations to be ranked in the PLwatch rankings as a reminder.... Just how do we come up with them? Simple, there are more than 30 federations in the USA, but only a handful of large federations. Out of the large federations we take the rule books and find common ground and then whatever rule the majority of feds follow.. we then follow. Compression shorts, bench press and other equipment dimensions etc are basically all the same in every fed with only a couple exceptions. We follow what the majority of feds follow to keep common ground otherwise the rankings are pointless. Most federations are privately owned businesses and are not bound by any one set of rules, not by PLWATCH or any other competing organization. They can set and follow whatever rules they deem appropriate for their organization. That being said, if you the lifter (a free agent so to speak) take your ranking seriously and want to be ranked; choose your events wisely.
