TweetAGain like I said at SM- my hat is off to this woman for any 90 year old woman to practice an activity where you get thrown down over and over man thats increadible, but what the hell is this,"combat sport" crap LMFAO- NO SUCH THING!! its either a sport or its combat and all modern martial arts/gendai budo are not for combat the suffix ,"do" is what that means. People write these articles and dont even know the subject they write about. The 'DAN" system of ranking was invented by the maker of Judo - whose intent and read it in every book he ever wrote, wanted to take the principles of jujutsu but removed all the dangerous parts of it and create a way of exercise and recreation for children that could be practiced in elementary school. JUDO is a sport, not combat, not self defense not anything even close

why yes my friend there is, a combat sport is combat in which there are rules governing the actions of the fighters and it is a contest in which there is a winner and a looser that may be judged if the time limit is exceeded. the end result is not to kill or maim the opponent but to either sub, KO, TKO or win in a decision.

other wise it would be 2 man enter one man leave.

i have great respect for both the pure and the hybrid martial arts.

congrats to granny, i doubt she can do much at her age but its still an honor for her. i wonder if i will still be doing it at 90+

it would be hard to find training partners if you poked out their eyes and broke their knee caps
