Re: Gun Shows suck... and are awesome
$12.99 isn't too bad for a box of target ammo.(FMJ) I like the Federal at Wal-Mart for $9.96 a box. Or WWB @ Wally-World, 100rd box for $22.96.
Those IWB, in the orange & black box. FMJ target ammo. Those things have proven not worth a damn for practice cause of too many of balance rds per box. They can keep those for $13. They were $14.99, if memory serves me correct, back when they hit the shelves a cpl yrs ago. I think most folks figured them out.
9mm is the cheapest next to a .22 to plink/target shoot. I love getting a 50rd box of Winchester Talons 127gr +P+ for $19.99 with ammounitiontogo.com. Or Gold Dots. Box of 50 124gr +P for $22.99. Badass SD rds. And at that price, you can practice with them some. Do some fun "ballistic-testing".

At the gun show I can usually get Federal American Eagle and Federal plain for $9 per box. I have some of those orange and black Wal-Mart ones too but have only shot two boxes of them. It seemed like I wasn't as accurate with them for sure, but they shot fairly clean. I tend to do well with Federals regardless of what some may say about them, and the Winchester white boxes are fine for me too, but PMC is probably my favorite.
Re: Gun Shows suck... and are awesome
yep I always ran PMC for practice with my little P32. Then Gold Dots for SD. That little .32caliber Gold Dot was a bad little rnd. I just could hit a group worth pissin on past the 15ft marker. I thought it was the 2"bbl. But, I was absolutely 100% dead ass wrong about that one. That Taurus .38-snub also sported 2" of barrel, and I could put 'em, at most, an inch apart from about 30-40ft. So, I'm wanting a .357 snub-nose. The velocity & energy goes hard in a .357magnum. The .357mag produces similar velocitry speeds as the 9mm, but the energy dispersed is slightly better. A little more mass behind that narrow .357. The round is long. It must set back to the bottleneck, for those that have seen some of the bottlenecked .357mag SD ammo.
My buddy just got a Rossi .357mag/snub. I dig the hell out of that thing. You can practice with .38rds, then go with the magnums for SD.
Right when I looked at that Rossi, I new it was machined along side the Taurus revolvers. Good revolvers for a good price. I'm always with that combo.

Went to a gun show down the road from me yesterday. Sold my .357 mag S&W 19 and my S&W 422. Honestly though the prices of about everything were jacked up badly.

dammit i have been looking for a .38 spl or .357 mag wheel gun for a while now. the cool thing about the shows here is you can haggle the price. normally i can get the price down to internet prices + ffl fees even adding tax.
i like gun shows

I won't run Wolf in anything but my Kalash. Russian ammo for a Russian rifle. They go together like peas & carrots. It's a battlefield round.
I know what you're saying about the shows though. You can actually do better on allot of things. People just think that because it's a gun-show that everything's a good deal. Not so.
tell me about it.had a Chinese made AK-47 and an SKS.bought 2 crates of 7.62x39 ammo back in the late 80's direct from China.used up one case.came packed in tins in a wooden case.forgot i still had a whole case left over.found it at my parents house last year helping them move.since i don't own either weapon anymore i'm trying to find out if any local Police stations would be willing to take them off my hands and destroy them.i'll gaurantee they still shoot like brand new tho.
i'd fire 20-30 30rnd clips or 3-4 100rnd drum mags thru my AK before i even had to think about cleaning the barrel.forgot to clean it one night after a day of firing a few thousand rounds, left it like that for almost 5 months.all i had to do was kick the bolt open with my combat boots, squirt some oil on the bolt and fire away.never once i had a misfire happen.
if anyone knows the proper procedure for getting rid of unwanted ammo i'd appreciate it alot.thnx...roc.
Re: Gun Shows suck... and are awesome
always haggle if they font go down go to the next booth and they will lol. also get them down on gun prices. you can walk away with a box of ammo and a gun for less then the price they had on the gun if you work it right

agree but not right now. i have bought several pistols at gun shows. i end up with internet pricing and tax normally = shipping and FFL so i come out ahead of a regular gun store or like academy
