Tweeti got mine stolen for the 3rd time 2 weeks ago...i have no clue how these fdukers get it. sometimes i think its a bank fuk up
TweetWell Some scam group tried to preauthorize a dollar on my debit card to see if it was a valid # but my credit union caught it and cancelled my card. $1.03 charged by Wilkins investments in Rochester, ID. I had to go down and get a new card, but I'm sure glad they have security in place to catch fraudulent charges before they get any money like others have mentioned here.

TweetThere's something called "Regulation E" in banking that pretty much protects consumers from any theft. Whether it's done by a good thief, or just plain stupidity. You have 60 days to report it from the time of theft. The consumer is liable for the first $50, and the bank eats the rest. So aside from the inconvenience, you're pretty well taken care of.

TweetI lost my digits too. damn
TweetI wish my issue was $1.03. The scoundrels hit my card for 6 charges in excess of $2,200! Thankfully it was credited back and there wasn't any issues with payments or using the card. Man, that would be embarrasing, trying to use the card and it bounces!

TweetHappened to me also about 2 months ago. Five charges out of Florida. I was credited fully by my bank.

TweetI got hit pretty hard by some lousy scum of the earth thieves a while back. They ran thru the money in the account, OD protection, credit line, etc...& kept charging, running up hundreds of OD fees. They ran each charge separately.
I really need to take time to go thru my statement right now, because something isn't looking right.
The sorry fukers that do this should be dealt with in the harshest. I won't even put in writing what I feel should be done to these sorry bastards.
Stealing someone's hard-earned belongings, wheather it's money, or assetts bought, belongings, whatever...that's almost as low as it gets.
TweetMe too, but thankfully I didn't get hit that hard. I still have my credit card, and they believe my card number was stolen at a gas station ( I guess these crooks are installing credit card thingys at gas stations, and when "we" put our cards in there ,it scans our credit card numbers........cause almost right after I left the gas station, my credit card company called me to tell me about some unusual activity.
TweetI'm glad I found out when I did because I'm leaving Monday on a 6 month project about 800 miles from home. I'd be lost without my debit card lol.

TweetI forgot about that thing. They put it right on the front of ATM machines, gas pumps, right where you put your card in the slot, and it reads your info.
I've been thinking someone had that thing that scans your card from your wallett as they pass it a few inches by your pocket. Or an "acquaintance" got ahold of my info. That little device is, likely, how I got "got". sorry pieces of shit.
TweetSo, on a safe note: Always check to see if you can pull the thing off of the card slot. If so, it's one of those card reader info heisters.
Another side note: Scan the area around you to see if anyone is paying attention to you if you were to notice this scam. They're obviously the theives. Drag them out of their car windows, beating them senseless. Continue beating the hell out of them. Stomp their ass tasteless. Worthless pieces of trash.
TweetI had the dollar charge on mine also. Lucky they caught it and cancelled my card also. They said it's happening all over.
TweetDamn. I definitely need to take the half-day it's agonna take to sift through my statement over the past month, because something is not looking right.
Since our account was emptied, and then some, by fraudulant use of my debit card, I try to buy everything with cash. I run it as credit everytime possible. If I just have to get cash-back. I make damn sure to cover the keypad, and enter my PIN as if I'm hitting other numbers. You never know who is watching you through those checkout-line cameras. I don't think those "security" dudes that stare at monitors all day are ballin out too hard. Not judging, just being cautious. Ya never know.
TweetI can't believe all the post on here alone about this issue. Seems like it happens way to much. You got to watch where you use your cards. I would never use it at a gas station or use one of those ATM machines in a Bodaga. Not where I live anyway.
TweetI'm glad to say that my bank has a security system to prevent something like that.
One night, I left work and purchased gas at a nearby cheap station using my debit card. Usually, I prefer to use it as a credit card but the shit for brains in the station claimed not to know how to do that. Within a few hours, over $150 had been charged to my card at various Exxon and Chevron stations over 100 miles from me. Luckily, my bank caught it, called me, and we cancelled the card to prevent any further charges. The money was back in my account in less than a week.
