TweetI love them too! I can only do 3 by myself right now, but a few months ago I couldn't any!
I get on the assisted pull up machine and stretch out like you said Dzone, ooooh I love that feeling!
TweetMan I love pullups. I do them in the park, I do them at home, I do them at the gym, I do them wherever I see a pullup bar. Cranking them out.It just feels so glorious to pull your chin above that bar. Over and over. You Let yourself go all the way to the bottom, totally stretched out, then pull with every muscle in your body...Your chest, back, arms, shoulders engorged...one of the truly great exercises in history

Tweetgood mornin Ropie! Keep on pullin buddy
TweetI love pull ups but since June I have been heavily limited with a bad strain/tendon issue in my right bicep...
TweetPullup and chins are to me the cornerstone of upper body develpment, the upperbody squat. People that dont perform a variation of this exercise will miss out significantly . I do two variations every lat workout. I measure my progress myself as a bodyulder by how many reps of wide grip chins I can do witha 100 pound plate tied to my waste. I agree too that one should go all the way down to feel the stretch in the lats then pull all the way up and feel the scapula contract. Vary the grip , vary the width. If you are lucky you have a gym with mutli grip chin station. Now you wont find this at workout world or Planet Fitness but I ASSUME most of my Bros and whoes here dont workout there
TweetDefinately dont engage in any exercise that may make this worse. However do find an alternative that works the same muscle and train lightly to hasten the healing process. Try varios grips or even machines
Tweeti also can no longer do wide grips at the gym i go to. We only have a straight bar and for some reason a wide grip without an angled grip will send my bicep tendon into a fit.
TweetI like to go to failure on pullups and then do partial reps followed by going halfway and stopping and seeing how long I can hold myself there. By the end of a set like that, Im fried
TweetPullups and pushups, excersices that will never become dated.
love'em
