Second job???

TweetSo my wife has decided she wants to start nursing school in may. This means that she will have to quit her job. I have been thinking about getting a 2nd job to try and get some bills paid off quickly. The 2nd job wouldn't pay but like 8/hr, do you guys think it's worth the extra time doing this? I know it mostly depends on my personal situation and choice, but what do you guys think?

TweetShe is going to try and get some grants or something. It is 12 or 18 months...I can't remember. It's the LPN. she will probably get some kind of job but we cut it close with her working full time right now. I'm hoping the house sells before then but we all know how that market is, so I'm not banking on that

TweetOh yeah, it will mostly be used to build the new house. But we should make enough to pay off all debt and still have more than 20% left for the new house. The second job is in the golf department at Dick's sporting goods so it wouldn't be stressful or anything. It would just take up most of my spare time

Tweetif thats good for you...i got a guy that owns a ranch/farm that his kids moved away...he pays me 10bucks an hr cash to help out around the ranch...if you could find something like that, its really good!! there's physicle labor and i get to put some coin in the hip

Well, I could work with my dad on the weekends for cash. It would be quite physical...he owns a dozer and backhoe business. I don't care about the physical labor but working with him, it would have to be all day saturday and sunday to get any descent amount of hours. With the sporting goods job, I can work at night during the week and not so much on the weekends and get in some descent hours. I know I won't be making a ton, but if I can get an extra 80 bucks a week....that is 320 a month...that will go a long way on paying off some bills quickly.

Tweetdo it man. at worse you decide it to much and the money isn't worth it so you quit. No harm there really. those little extras really do go a long way to help pay bills down if you really put them towards the bills

Tweetsee thats where some people dont understand that even if your not making much but at the end of the month you made say $250-$300 from a job that right there is a few bills or one big bill it helps

Exactly. 80 a week doesn't sound like a lot, but at the end of the month it really adds up! I put my application in for the job, so if I get the offer then I will take it. Like james said, I could always quit if it caused problems.
