But the President imo does not want to clean up the spill in order to bring about a more severe disaster to push his environmental agenda. Notice how much politics is at play instead of finding solutions. Notice how slow the response has been to get this mess cleaned up. When Bush has Katrina he was viciously attacked, even though his response was much faster than Obama's, and he waved the Jones Act almost immediately, I believe it was 5 days after the Hurricane. Now here we are 2 months after the oil spill and the President is refusing to wave the Jones Act. I can only assume this is because of his ties to unions. Either way, a double standard clearly exists and Obama is has been given a pass on this disaster. It really is disgusting. Where are the so called environmentalists now? Why were they present during Katrina but they aren't now? I believe it's because they take their orders from the politicians and left wing elitists. But since their man is in office they are told to remain silent. They have no concern for the environment, that much should be obvious. It is all about transforming our government into a socialist form, and the environment is their means of doing so. They do so by convincing ignorant people to believe all of their fear tactics, thus creating a global scare that mother earth is at grave risk. I still cannot believe people fall for this crap.
they will use stuff like this to try and cripple the oil industry, and the couple of recent events in our coal mines to cripple the coal companies...lets see how big of a recession we will be in if offshore is banned and cap and trade goes into effect

If a moratorium for drilling deeper than 500' is enforced on all off shore drilling to include the eastern coastal waters, Alaska, and the gulf, then there will most likely be a double dip recession. If we go into a double dip, it is quite possible to realize a much more severe recession that would closer resemble the great depression as far as unemployment numbers are concerned. A domino effect would be the outcome due to the large number of industries that support the oil drilling industry. Unfortunately, most people do not understand the complexities of economics. A ban on drilling would hamper businesses that supply parts and services to the oil drilling companies. In addition, businesses such as retail stores and restaurants would be impacted once job losses are realized. Auto sales decrease, air travel decreases, tourism decreases, tax revenues at state and federal level decrease, state and federal level spending increases due to unemployment and welfare benefits, etc. A wave of unemployment will hit all industries related to the oil industry and many more with indirect ties. The fact that we are still in a recession or beginning to climb out of one as some analysts predict (though I disagree because they use the GDP to determine this, which can be manipulated with ease by the Federal Government), the impact of a drilling ban would be catastrophic. As Mary Landrieu, the Democrat Senator from Louisiana warned, job loss estimates are 300,000 just in the state of Louisiana if the ban is enforced. If that number were to become reality, then the number would surely multiply at the national level. If 300,000 people are out of work in one state, then it must be understood how that would affect the rest of the states. We have to assume that a good portion of those 300,000 spend money elsewhere whether through travel, online ordering, charities, etc. As I said, it would be a domino effect, and one our country is in no shape to handle at the present.

If cap and trade is enacted then we are also going to experience a double dip. Cap and trade would be the most catastrophic policy to our economy, and when combined with the health care bill, it would be detrimental. I do not believe America could prevent full blown socialism from coming to existence if the above policy is enacted.
