TweetTrip, you seem very educated on various economic and political issues. I do not doubt your research nor do I object to your views on the issues at hand, that is the great thing about our country, that you have the right to practice your 1st amendment rights. However, I don't care how long you claim to have been a libertarian, as that is not important. The fact remains that you post on here on a regular basis and most of the time it seems you support the policies of this president, such as in this case with health care. My assertion is that your views do not hold up to the libertarian party's view of limited government. It is impossible to support libertarian views and at the same time support massive government intervention in health care, or in your case, perhaps not to support it but to believe it will work. I should not have to explain libertarianism to you and do not wish to. Yet, you continue to claim to be one and then support massive government intervention in the private sector. How is that possible? You can claim to be a libertarian your whole life and that is fine, I believe you, but you do not appear to hold the beliefs that libertarians hold. I have never met a libertarian that supports or voted for this president, nor one who supports the health care bill. Your views to me appear to be of the classical liberal type and you trust the government much more than a libertarian does. It is as if you are trying to convince others that we are on the wrong side of things and do not understand the meaning of libertarianism. I assure you that I know full well the interests of the party that I associate myself with and I would have nothing to do with any party that supports a single policy this president supports. Obama is a socialist with marxist ideals. He does not represent the best interests of the Republic of this country on a single issue. If he had it his way we would live in pure socialism.
In regard to your understanding of why other countries have government run health care, I disagree. The reason it could not work in the private sector is because they never allowed capitalism to prosper the way we have here in the U.S. And once again, you discredit the source I listed because he is a COO of a hospital. Why is it not possible that he understands what this bill will do to the industry and has given his professional opinion on the subject?
Enough about the health care bill already anyhow, I am bored with it. In the future, assuming it passes, we will see just what come of it. But the Federal Government's track record is not a good one in any sense. You can continue to live outside of reality and trust your loving government to provide everything for you. I will continue to stand for freedom and be aware that government is the opposite of freedom, whereas the more of it the less freedom we shall have.

TweetTrip, all of the things wrong with health care are from government regulations and the lack of tort reform. That is why you have to have all of these tests and procedures.
Where do you frequently go to read articles on the issues at hand? Your a libertarian and you have now criticized 2 of the largest libertarian bases out there, Mises and Campaign for Liberty. Or do you believe that you already possess all of the knowledge you need and form your own opinions? I mean, don't get me wrong, I am a thinker and believe I have a fairly good perception of how things work and some pretty good ideas of how to fix some of the major challenges we face. However, I do still research and read others opinions as well. I prefer the works of Hayek, Rothbard, Menger, Mises, and many others to have a better understanding of economics. And I feel their are some very good articles to read on the sites I have previously mentioned. But where in the world do you read up on these issues? I merely linked 2 articles from reputable sites for you to read and see what you thought. Both of them from libertarian websites. And yet you called them both trash. Thus, you are saying that those sites put trash out there for their readers to read. So where do you go to read up on the issues? I would love to know, considering the ones I go to are trash.

TweetA correction on my part in regard to my debating Trip. I believe your views are aligned with social liberalism. That is my mistake in calling it classical liberalism, which is not much different than libertarianism. Just my opinion so please don't take offense.

TweetAnd they are both going to be bankrupt in how many years?
Sounds like a great system.
