Tweetim a big fan of the XD series springfeild armory has.
TweetBought the XD9 essentials for $389 at a gun shot last year. It shot fine but for a sub compact it is pretty chunky and blocky. traded a co worker straight up for an M&P sub compact. This pistol is brand new, he bought it last Monday and for whatever reason decided he wanted an XD.
I will say the XD trigger is much better stock but who leaves stuff stock?
This is the model with the safety. It is thinner and more rounded and I am sure I am going to enjoy carrying it much more.

Tweeti am too but the M&P felt better and had a lower barrel axis. also it was smaller and lighter. the trigger is not nearly as good on the M&P as the XD. will have to do some work there. other than that it was a good trade for me
TweetIve had a xd40 sub compact for 3+yrs....I love it!
My buddys girl just bought him a M&P40 I like it but u are 100% correct on the trigger!
The xd fits me better but I like the feel of the S&W...Nice gun!
Everything I say is Roll Play!
Tweetgreat trade!!

TweetI got a M&P 40...love that gun.
Tweeti am getting an apex trigger kit. fixes all the problems with the trigger, the grittiness, and the takeup and break. will make it a fine shooter and drop the trigger pull 1-1.5#. i have a safety so it's all good. can't weight. gun show the 21st i will be there
