Tweetyes and no. i'm in IT
TweetAny of you guys think that getting it was worth it?? Vandoo, sounds like what I've though. Good info but doesn't compare with real world knowledge.
Tweetsure aint going to hurt but real world education is a whole different ballgame. 85% of Milliionaires in the US never even went to college. But am sure an MBA could open certain doors to a person in some industries
Tweeti'm always amazed at how hr and corporations think an MBA is superior to real world experience.....from what i've seen an MBA usuallt pays for itself in a few years.....and unless you go to an ivy league or a top 50 program full time it doesn't really matter where you get it as long as you have it.....gmat is another joke all together
Tweetstatistics B.S. and actuarial science masters. I may end up going into the investment sector but will have to wait and see.
TweetI have one, at the time I got it in 2006 I graduated from the best Canadian program, hippie ****ing oorah me!
MBA are like CA, they think they can rule the world, they know everything. What Ive learned what some basic of management, and I learned more in the army. some business analysis which you can learn elsewhere.
Business mathematics, ok they got me there. etc etc...
Yes on paper it is good and looks good on a resume, and always fun to brag along, thats one of the thing that piss me off and especially embarass me is the wannabeism of the MBA holder, it is a shame.
Now if you wanna do your MBA and go into the investment sector, try a joint MBA / CFA program.
3vandoo BA, MBA, Post MBA, GradDpl ( SEE THE WANNABEISM)
real world actual action will always be better than education, education is a key and you must open doors with it and it is up to you to open them.

TweetI looked at the org chart for the company I work for. All the VPs of the various divisions have MBAs. I spoke with the Director of the division I am in and asked him how do I get into his position, he told me "get an MBA." I have a BS in Engr. a MS in Engr and now working on an MBA. If I kiss the proper booties I will be at the top of some division!!!
