This is just my opinion and I completely understand if others don't feel the same way.

The majority has spoken so now it is time to pledge our support to the new president. This is no way means that I believe the best candidate won nor does it mean that my undying loyalty rest with the new president. This does mean that I respect what the American people said. You see no house divided will stand therefore I feel it is very important in these times or great uncertainty that America be united.

I do however feel very strongly that Obama be held accountable. I don't feel like that has happened up to this point. I feel like the American people deserve the truth about his past dealings with Rezko, Ayers, Wright and many others. He must be held accountable if his tax plan worsens the econmic crisis. Once he makes the cuts to the military he has proposed he must be held accountable if the War on Terror is lost. He must be held accountable if we are not energy independent in 10 years. If the national deficet increases he is going to have to be held accountable. To put it simply, if this "change" he promises does not result in a better way of life for all Americans (wealthy included) then we must hold him accountable and demand CHANGE.

How did you get that I want to hang the short-comings and failures of the previous president on Obama?

How would McCain done so well... he failed in running a good campaign there was plenty of opportunity for him to make huge gains in the polls and make some huge statements but he didn't, he was out of touch with what was happening with the economy and you know that... did he say the economy was strong or had a strong foundation and the very next day every thing crapped out?

i am not gonna get into a huge debate or pissing contest bottom line is America spoke thee was not voter fraud no high jinx Obama ran a great campaign and he won that is it. we have had plenty of bad presidents in the past rep and dem. lets see what this one does.

How long will Obama get to use Bush as an excuse for his administrations failures? Do you think McCain would have received that kind of tolerance for failure? When are his supporters going to get excited about the implementation of his policies of change (it's hard to get excited over vague rhetoric) - all I've seen is excitement for the color of his skin but at least he's black; that obviously means something to a lot of people.

why are we even having such a wasted discussion? The guy has not even been sworn in the political forum has just been post after post of bashing the guy. He has not even been sworn in yet and he is being touted as a failure. No matter who won they have long up hill battle, and don't even try saying well McCain could do it better or would be better because bottom line is you don't know that for a fact and if that was the case he would not of lost.

I'm expressing the tactics that will be used to protect Obama's liberal ideology from being held responsible for his failure. When Obama fails we will be saturated with the excuse that he has an up hill battle because of all the damage Bush has done. I am simply asking do you think McCain would would get the same benefit of the doubt from the "media"?

i think if Obama fails the media will be even be more harsh, think about it for a minute i think you will get it. I think his expectations are much higher then they would be if McCain had won. Face it he is the First African American to get voted in, if he fails he very well could be the last, so i think he has a much higher expectation then McCain would have had.

the Real ? is why so soon to jump the conclusion he will fail? what if he succeeds and our country is in a much place in 4 years? let me guess it be because of the the policies that bush set in place that are taking full effect?

If Obama succeeds no right winger on this board will admit and will just come up with excuse one right after another.

A true American supports his country and defends it at all cost just as McCain did and will do.

With all due respect but that was the purpose of what I said in the orignal quote on this thread. As Americans it is time to back the man that the majority elected. I don't think it unreasonable to ask to hold him or any other elected offical accountable for what they promised.

I agree no one could live up to his hype but the media won't let him fail - his failure is not a good story. He's the ultimate underdog (that's what sells) - his presidency is already a success or even the most successful; he just has to go through the motions and his supporters just have to let the mainstream media do their thinking for them.

We elected a black man as president; the rest of the world is already happy with that. So our perception has already been improved but being black isn't going to help our economy, our defense and our freedoms. Why will he fail because he does not believe in freedom. Statism has failed for centuries and Obama has failed to see that. Why do you think America was the most powerful country to ever exist? Do you think it is only a coincidence that it was also the most free?

If he veto's dangerous legislation against personal freedom, I'll give him kudos. If he makes individual freedom his agenda, I'll give him kudos but I find that possibility highly unlikely; he's a marxist

And likewise if his agenda's are bad for freedom will you recognize it and admit it.

It depends on what America is standing for; as long as America stands for freedom - I'll be it's patriot. When it doesn't - I won't. And I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that Obama values individual freedom.

The unfortunate part is this.....Obama is coming in after several years of a down economy. History has shown that our economy goes up and down. He will be in office as it rebounds and be considered theone that did it. Look at the Clinton era, he came in during the dot com era and the tech boom and was given all the credit. LMAO! Like Clinton had anything at all to do with that industry.....yet.....he got the credit because it happened during hsi watch. I have been saying for years now that the next gotta have it tech item is coming and I'm sure it will come during Obama's watch and he will get all the credit for it. Just wait and see.....
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

Guys, I've been saying all along, I really think he is that good.

I'll call him out, and be the first one when he messes up, and I'll call it all.

I agree with Tman, Clinton had tech INFLECTION POINT AS A BACKWIND.

Technology, started from going too the moon, started paying off in 1985, first pc's in offices, and first cell phones.

Technology INCREASED A WORKERS PRODUCTIVITY, ie, u can do much more with less. For a countries economy this was about 2-3% ever year for a decade.

I'll use me for an example, with tech inventions I could run 50% more volume in my construction company, and probably only a 20% increase in cost. I was able too duplicate alot of stuff I had too do over and over for each individual job.

Anyways, we are in more than a downturn right now, economically you hear folks on TV say, Great Depression like....................well, yes and no...............financially, the business of money has been totally f'd..........yet, the economy, food, clothing, shelter, and jobs related has not tanked, and is holding up.

His task with the economy is huge, huge, huge. IMHO, with smart folks on the job we can avoid the worst of it.

We have a ten trillion dollar deficit. Regan took over with a trillion in the bucket down. Clinton came in with 4 trillion down, so, the facts are regan and bush ran large deficits. Clinton was the first one too put a dent in it, and run a surplus. Bush II blew thru the surplus, 300 billion, and then added 500 billion a year for 8 years.

So, let's all be fair, the deficit has been a problem for 28 years, it has now reached the point where it is on the verge of being unmanageable.

It takes 3-6-9 months too get too know someone.

Let's all see how he governs, we should have some clear clues by September of 2009. By that time he should have had enough challenges we can see the guy in action and what he is made of.

My bet for four years, is he is that good, I have not seen one issue that says he is not, yet, mark my words, I'll yell first.
