Hmmm, that explains the story I read yesterday focusing on the increase of college students, alcohol poisoning leading to deaths.

I agree with you though. You can vote and go to war at 18, you should be able to drink.

Agreed. If you can die for this Country at 18, you should be able to puke on it's sidewalks legally to.

No, it should stay illegal. Drinking and voting and military are not related in any way shape or form. there is already enough damage and death from alcohol as it is. You would have immature 18 year olds getting drunk in nightclubs and killing innocent people. At least keep them on campus or at their home gettting wasted.

I totally agree!!! As the mother of a son that will be 18 in 2 months and already has 2 tickets and one accident under his belt, I couldnt imagine adding alcohol into the mix. As for the military, the draft has not been in play for years so that should not factor in. Yes, you can go to war when you are 18 but that is by choice. The military doesnt say, Ok you're 18 now, off to war!! Yet, when you think about it, how many of you said Im 21 now, lets go get a drink??? My son will turn 18 as a senior in high school. There's a pub down the street from his school. Imagine that scenario.....get out of school around 2ish, head over to the pub for a beer or two, then head home to do homework??? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

That is true but our government is saying 18 year olds are responsible enough to sign up, be trained in warfare and taken to a war zone so they can kill other people but their not responsible enough to drink. Forty year olds drink and drive should we go back to the alcohol prohibition.

The govt still has the power to draft. If you old enough under the eyes of the law TO BE drafted and vote, your old enough to consume alchohol. I say yes, the drinkng age should be 18. Does this mean 18-21 year olds will use alcohol less responsibly, I don't think so.

THERE ARE 2 GOOD SIDES TO THIS AND I DONT KNOW WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT...BUT, IF YOU ARE A ADULT AND CAN DO EVERYTHING ELSE AT 18 THEN I DONT KNOW WHY IT SHOULD NOT BE THE SAME FOR DRINKING

I dont think 18 year olds should be able to go out and get wasted LEGALLY in public. My personal belief is that there is a huge maturity difference between an 18 year old and a 21 year old.
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

What lies before me and what lies ahead of me are small compared to what lies within me.
