How do you handle this?

Ok, my friend has been tallin me about this hot chick who cuts his hair so he gave her my phone #. She called me and we exchnged pix. She looks good and we have talked on the phone a lot over the past week. Well, she invited me to go with her and her 2 daughters, age 4 and 8, to an NBA game tonight. She wants to meet first over dinner with her girls then go to the game...maybe it aint a big deal, but would you guys pay for the whole meal for the 4 of us? She is the one who got the tickets to the game, I guess a coworker gave them to her.
Would you guys cough up the $$$ for dinner? I suppose I will. I dont know if Im going to dig this chick or not. The main issue I have is she is friends with this friend of mine who likes to stick his nose in other peoples business, including mine....so Im sure he will be talking to her a lot about me.
I gues sI will pay for dinner, but I wouod rather not have to..LOL...I hope I dont sound like a cheap basta rd...lol...Im just not sure what is appropriate. This is our first meeting and she **** near pressured me into going. She has invited me to other things and I keep having an excuse not to.

First off, I would be leary of any chick who brings her kids around you on the first date. That's a bad sign right there.

Me personally, especially since you have mutual friends, I would probably pay for the dinner since she has the tickets...

but.................. I would tell her that I would rather not have her kids going on the 1st date.,.. I would tell her straight out that, no offense, but Im not comfortable with that so soon...

if she doesnt understand and insists on them going, you could always say that you dont have time for dinner, but you could meet her right before the game for a drink or something...

and yeah u come off as cheap

and in my books she gets some props for calling u, inviting u and planning the gig

take it one day at a time, it takes 3-6 months to begin to get too know someone, that's why i alwasy like to see the kids on the side line the first several months, it's super easy for kids to get attached, and to get attchd to kids how can u not love em, it's just throws a little dirt in the water

I'm with everyone else. Meeting the kids on the first date makes no sense. She is in need of a replacement daddy for the kids. If you're not ready for that, you better run far, far away!!!!

well...that's true too. it's a package deal, and she's making you aware of that. i guess, without thinking about it, i was assuming that you knew that and that was fine (if you've been talking on the phone i'm sure the kids wasnt a suprize). if the kids aint a prob, then your a cheap fuk...if they are a prob, then respectfully decline and move on, and i appologize.
