Heroes

TweetJust an observation. When i was a kid my view on heroes or for a better term "good guys" was pretty much cut and dry, The cowboy on the saturday morning western, the cop you wanted to grow up to be who was squeaky clean, neighborhood oriented,etc. i've come to see that the real "good guy" is rarely if ever so cut and dry,black and white. more shades of gray. I was told the other day what a good guy i was for all i do for my family, my gram and such, and for the kids at karate and i'm thinking i'm such a flawed individual, with all my faults and if this person could see me as i see me would they have the same opinion?

Tweetnope...their opinion would be completly diff! matter of fact...i'm thinking, if their just not COMPLETLY blind, they must wear thick glasses!

just kiddin...i think good people have flaws too...anybody can be someones hero!

TweetI think you have to have flaws, had made mistakes, and learned hard lessons to be "that guy". Someone squeaky clean and never done a wrong thing or thought a wrong thought can not empathize with others, cannot hold himself second to others, cannot advance himself in someone elses cause...

thats why I am the Punisher....lol

TweetThere is no one that if you dig deep enough has not done something they are not proud of in some way shape or form. Even a horrible person can be a hero under the right circumstances. When you are young the world is black and white, that is the wonderful thing about ignorance. As we age and hopefully become wiser we learn there are no absolutes, that the world is a constant shade of gray (for the most part). The point of an idea of a hero is to maintain an idea that helps us all to try and be better people.....ever wonder why the people of today do little to help their fellow human?

Just look at who are heroes are today....sports stars, actors.....people that are looked up to not for their "good" conduct but simply because they are famous.....they made a movie......they scored a basket.......
