I have been considering getting another bike.
And now that I am working 2 full time jobs and traveling close to 100 miles a day the fuel savings may warrant it.

      A little history first - -
I've had 2 bikes in the past, practically lived on them when I had them but the catch is they both resulted in fairly serious accidents. One on the freeway and one when a woman turned left in front of me and I T-boned her car. 2 back surgeries from the latter one.

My wife is pretty hard nosed about me not getting another bike but I may do it regardless - she'll be pissed but knows I will do what I want anyway.

The other thing is both bikes were more cruising style, never a sport bike - but i am thinking I may want to try a sport bike but know nothing about them.
The other thought is a Harley V-rod simply because i have seen some I really love but the price is going to be more than I want to spend right now.
I thinking of something a bit older and very cost effective.

The one last thing is the smallest bike I have had is an 1100, the second one was a 1400 Intruder buy Suzuki.
I don't know if i would feel right on a smaller 600-750 sized sport bike. Again, I know nothing about them so it's hard to say. I did get on an 800 Intruder while I had my 1400 and it felt like a moped.

What are your thoughts on switching to a sport bike and how does the size of the bike effect the ride/feel of it.
And if you're thinking I'm crazy for considering another bike after 2 hits - then please say so and speak your mind.
      That's why I'm asking everyone.

      Thanks -

      Sal

even the 600 sport bike will make the big cruiser feel slow. But my concern is the back, I dont know if the seating position of the sport will bother your back. If you know anyone that has one you could ride for a day to see that would be ideal I think Sal. But I do love the rush of a sport bke, lifting the front end is fun.

      thanks O2 and Rols -
I don't plan on doing and "sporty" riding, I'm sure that will happen but I try to stay very mundane when riding.
It's not so much the speed of the bikes that I'm concerned with it's the feeling of the mass. The larger cruisers feel like a car on the road. Semi trucks seem no different than a car passing. I don't get a huge amount of shake or sway when I was on one the bigger cruisers.
How is it onthe sport bikes? are they really stable when simply totting down the road, even with wind gust and trucks?

v-rods are nice...but pricey...i have owned Harley Davidsons for 12 years, and only rode sports bikes a few times...harleys all the way for me...but i dont just do around town riding... go on alot of 3-4 day trips....so a sports bike is impracticle for me

I have owned a sport bike for the last 5 years and they are a blast. all you need is a nice 600cc or 750cc. the new 6's and the same size as the liter bikes. most of them share the same frame, ride height, and they are only a few pounds lighter like 10-15. Most people think the 6's are smaller and lighter and its not the case.
