Default Which one would you go for ?

With all these problems my car has given me.. I decided to get rid of it by trading it in. I have a list of cars that I'm interested...

      1.) Lexus
      2.) Infinity
      3.) Acura
      4.) Toyota
      5.) Honda
      6.) Nissan

Now I know everyones gonna say go for Toyota - I had camry 03 before was pleased but the car doesn't have what I want.. if worse comses to worse I'll go with Toyota just because those things never breakdown.

Well since you have/had an AUDI S4, that means you are looking for a luxury sports sedan correct? Only Lexus, Infinity and Acura can offer that.
These are my top pickings for luxury sport:
      1. Lexus IS250 - IS300 doesn't come with a (manual tranny)
      2. Infinity G35 sedan (there is the G37 coming out in 08)
      3. Acura TSX

For the remaining brands i'd get these:
      4. Toyota ---N/A ---> There isn't a sport sedan in the toyota line up.
      5. Honda Accord ----> Fast and still gets good gas mileage.
      6. Nissan Maxima ----> Fast and looks great!

IMO I think Lexus makes the ugliest lookin cars, I don't like anything they make.
I'd go with the new Infinte G35X or an Acura TL Type S for a luxury sedan.

      For the cheaper priced:
Again with Toyota, I don't like their vehicles to much either (Im picky).
The Nissan Maxima and the new Altima are nice.
      Honda Accord is nice too.

i've got a 96 honda accord, before i was always car nute, i always would just buy what i fell in love with, they had too look sexy and in my budget, imho, like dave always says, all the japanese and american cars are great on reliability, it's the germans and europeans who obiviously like too spend alot of time working on their cars and walking, i guess cause eveything is soo close there

buy what u like and are proud of

I would hands down go with an Infiniti G35 Sedan or coupe.

First it's been rated among the top ten safest cars on the road, second it will hand 90% of cars out there their azzes, third it handles amazingly, fourth it has a good resale value, fifth they are very reliable, and last it's classy.

Honda's don't exude class or performance, they exude economy. Toyota's are 100% overrated and ugly. Lexus is just a rebadged Toyota. Acura's are underachievers according to most reviews. Nissan's are pretty good, but the Maxima is way overpriced (and Infiniti is a rebadged Nissan).

Did you know that the G35 is the Nissan Skyline in Europe? Skyline has dominated car races everywhere for a reason.

Just so you know I'm not talking out my azz....I regularly (about once a month) go out to dealers and test drive all of the newest stuff. I find it fun because I love cars, and love to see what advancements in technology, power, and handling have taken place.

I've probably test drove upwards of about 50 cars in the last two years. I can give you a whole list of what's good and what's not. I'm a dealers worst nightmare because I pick cars apart. When I buy a car I want looks, speed, safety, handling, and technology. Many people say you can't have all of them, but some cars out their truly are the total package.

From Vette's and Bimmers to Subi's and Srt's I've test drove most of the high performance vehicles on the market today.

Lexus is a division of Toyota. Just like Acura is a division of Honda. You can't go wrong with any of the four of them.

We just bought my wife an Acura TL A-Spec and it is by far the best car we have ever owned. I have a Toyota Sequoia which I like but the gas mileage is spit!

Stick with Honda and Acura, cant go wronge with that. Honda is known for making the most power per litre than any other car, plus they build the best engines. Acura is the same becuase, well Acura and Honda are the same thing. Toyota and Nissans are both OK, but nothing special.

djdiggler - how would you rate infinity (any model) when it comes to reliability, cost repairs, etc.

I'm not familiar with the other infinity models besides the g35.

With that said the G35 has great reliability and have bulletproof engines. As I mentioned before the G35 coupe is The Nissan Skyline in Europe. The Nissan Skyline dominates in tracks around the world for a reason. The skyline was actually banned from many races because it had an unfair advantage.

Here's a link to the Japanese site of Nissan where the G35 model is clearly shown as the Skyline. It says it on the trunk, unfortunately since the site is in japanese it's hard to understand anything else.

      https://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V35...EPT/main1.html

I'd like to know what Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura have to offer. Honda had nothing even in the same class as the G35. Toyota doesn't have any performance vehicles anymore. Lexus has the IS which is impressive in it's own light, but again doesn't hold a candle to a G35. Then of course Acura whom has nothing except the NSX which is waaay more expensive. The RL and TL are not in the same class as the G35 either(speaking of the coupe). They lean more towards functionality and luxury than performance.

I mentioned the G35 because obviously if you had an Audi S4 your a guy that likes high performance, not average performance. Keeping that in mind I basically went through everything I can think of with the brands you mentioned, and that was in my opinion your best match.

As for cost of repairs honestly it should be low considering reliability is good. Any new cars today cost alot if major things go wrong. My mother's Dodge Neon blew the engine and it cost her Nearly $5000 to fix from a dealer. I almost blew a gasket when she told me she paid that. Point is the old saying domestic is cheaper is not always the case.

So with that said instead of looking for what the cost of repairs is, look for what the reliability ratings are. Consumer Reports is a good place to gauge reliability (which the G35) got great ratings from. Also check out crash ratings at.............

      https://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=335

I hope this helps. Don't take my word for it. Go test a G, I guarantee you'll fall in love with the handling, speed, and overall finish. I was not a fan until I drove it.

I would go Honda, they have the best longevity, the most cars with 30+ MPG and they don't cost much to have repaired. At least, not like a Lexus would cost.
