Tweetyea...you cant get americans to unite for a dang thing.
TweetI've been hearing everywhere and was even texted from some random number that there is a Gas protest tomorrow May 15. DO NOT BUY GAS TOMORROW!
In 1997 there was a nationwide protest and the gas dropped .80 cents the next day. Lets do the same now and send a message to the gas companies.
Don't give the excuse that a few people not buying gas isn't going to help because like voting, every person participating sends a message. Don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution.
I have faith that all of you will join me in this one! Although we all have differences of opinion, I guarantee we're all equally tired of these gas problems!
Tweetyea...you cant get americans to unite for a dang thing.
Tweetim so devoted, im going to buy gas right now so i dont have to tommorow
TweetThat's exactly what they want you to think. I'm not trying to start a debate for once. I simply am trying to get people to stand up for atleast one thing together without biitching, whining, or debating. Just stand up and stick our middle fingers up to big business.
TweetDon`t doubt it. Yeah, we all will buy gas tomorrow or whatever but just one day of intruputed cash flow can really send a shock wave through their system.
WE ARE GETTING GOUGED! PRODUCTION IS NOT DOWN, OPEC HAS INCREASED PRODUCTION DON`T TOLERATE THIS ABUSE.
TweetI wonder why I was walking weird after I left the gas station yesterday when filling up my tank....
TweetI heard many experts say that won't do anything at all.
Tweetwell...it couldnt hurt NOT to buy gas. i'm with ya dj. i havnt today, and i wont. sad part is, i got 4 cars sitting here bone dry!!! i hope no one wants to test drive!...wait...i hope they do!! i'll just have to make them drive/buy something different!

TweetIt won't effect anything. The way to go about getting into their pockets is by buying vehicles that use an alternative source of power or even hybrids, changing your electricity/gas consumption by using florescent lighting, purchasing some solar panels for your house, etc.... By not getting gas tomorrow, you'll either have to fill up today or the day after the protest which won't do anything at all but cause a slow day for the retailers. Even if it were to have any sort of impact on a large scale it would be to the individual retailers, not the big boys. I think DJ's heart is in the right place here, but I feel that we could all make a larger impact in other ways.
Tweetok...what color would you like your hybrid?!! i'll have it for ya by sat. you flying up to get it, or you want me to ship it down?...lol
i know what your saying, and yes, if people were to do those things, they put a little damper on there party, no doubt. but, for a 1 day thing...it WILL effect them. they will have an interuption in cash flow. alot of the stations are corporate owned now. also, if the pumps sit idle for 1 day...thats 1 day worth of gas not being used...the actual non-sale of gas wont hurt any gas stations...the, you not coming in and buying energy drinks, cig's, candy, ect. thats what hurts the station. one day could send a message, believe it or not...they'd feel it

TweetGood point Daved. And Kite I feel ya brother. All of those things you mentioned are things we all should be striving for. I know for damn sure I plan on trying to make my home 100% self sufficient when I buy my new one next year. I just don't want to dump anymore into my current house as it's value is maxed.
As for Hybrid's I will be going for a more economical vehicle. I plan on buying a van strictly for business, and a more fuel efficient car for estimates and personal use (something in the mid 20mpg range which will be way better than my current 13mpg). Therefore I won't be raped at the pump when I use my 8cyl truck for personal use anymore!
Tweetyeah this wouldn't do much of anything, a better more realistic idea would be to ban buying gas from 1 of the big boys indefinetly. Say Exxon Mobil, if you could get a large chunk of the US to drive a extra mile to a different station and not buy from Exxon, they would def feel it.
even electric cars still use fossil fuel in-directly...........
TweetI don't agree with the first part. But you have a point on the idea of shunning one company completely. We should all do this. Who shall we shun?
Tweetwell i didnt buy any just to say i went along but guys I will tell you something. Our Government is makign this happen. We have the technology to be self contained and sufficient but we dont, you think we need the oil and **** from the rest of the world. NO, we have the technology to build what are called fuel cell vehicles and the run on hydrogen which is no problem to produce plus the only exaust from it is water and oxygen. Its perfectly clean. I know all this because I have been in the automotive field for 16 years or so. It is reality but there is too much money in the oil for the Government leaders. We could shut out the rest of the world and we would be just fine... Well I can dream cant I....
TweetWELL I NEEDED GAS AND GOT IT. YOU TELL MY 3YR OLD SHE CANT GO OUT SOMEWHERE BECAUSE OF THIS GAS THING AND SHE WILL TELL YOU TO PHUCK OFF,LOL
