Tweetanything honda...
actually the accountants tell us to purchase 1-2 yr old ford taurus lease back if you can find one..
$8000 range for a 1 yr old with like 23,000 miles on it..
engine will last, and insurance is cheap...
good luck

TweetHonda Civic or Toyota Corolla. Civic has a little bit more performance if you can find one with a VTEC engine.

Tweeti bought my car 2 years ago almost to the day, 96 Cadillac deville. never had a problem with it, it is a gass guzzler but IMO its worth it. Nice, comfortable, fast, roomy, etc.
i got it for $6000 with 70k miles on it.
Tweetmy dad keeps looking at cars like mercedes (which I don't want) or older fords (which I have now)...I was looking at older BMWs, specifically ti and is models...no one in my family has ever owned a toyota so I wouldn't even know where to begin with that one! hahahahaha...thanks for the suggestions so far...keep em coming!
Tweetwell i agree wt ur dad, mercedes is the way to go but i dunno if u can find one at 5K..
Tweetshoot I need to show this to dad! he's been looking to replace his old blazer...
Tweethe's found a couple but they've been older than the car I have now which I have a problem with...I think he's honestly looking at them b/c that's what he has...and he's against me having a good used beamer b/c that's what mom has...
TweetIt would be almost impossible to buy a benz for $5k, and even if you do, if it runs into any problems, you'll be paying plenty for fixing.
Stick with a Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima and Altima, or Toyota Camry. Behind them you can consider a Honda Civic or a Chevy Cavalier, but I wouldn't go American.
Tweetew no cavaliers...too many friends had those around here and had terrible problems with them...although, I had plenty of friends with troublesome mustangs and somehow mine turned out to be wonderful...13.5yrs so far!
Tweetu read my thoughts, to fix a benz and even if its old, gonna cost u a lotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.... stick wt what vvette said ^^^^
TweetLot of miles on the crv, but looks in damn good condition. Btw, the Ford Taurus is going to be comming back. I will be replacing one of their other models maybe the Focus, cant remember.
