Had a great workout Sunday and later that night felt awful, my throat was killing me and I felt weak. So, Monday I missed my workout and one of my classes. I had planned on doing Monday's workout on Tuesday, but I felt bad yesterday also. I slept in today and missed my usual workout time, figured I needed the rest. I haven't had a fever in two days, my throat still hurts and I have the kinda dizzy/weak feeling. Not staying on my program just kills me, I feel like I will lose every strength gain I have made this month. I think I could get in their this afternoon, but I know I wouldn't be 100%. Just trying to get some more opinions.

      No advice for poor me

Anyway I decided to just do today's workout tomorrow and continue on schedule with Friday's. Still some wheezing in my breathing, so I figured it would be best to wait.

I'd lay off till you get better. No need to stress your body, your body is already fighting whatever it is you have. rest up, you can probably use it.

Yup, rest up. For the most part you can answer your own question, by asking yourself how you feel. If you feel shot out or have a fever, stay at home, drink alot and eat alot. If you just feel a little under the weather then tough it out and hit the gym, maybe not wide ass open but get your work done. Listen to your body it knows what you need way more than any of us do.

You won't be adding any muscle working out sick. Right now your body is trying to get well. I would rest.

I've tried it and feel you get nothing out of working out while sick. Your body is using all it's energy tring to fight what ever you have. The more you work out the longer it's going to take to get better.

Working out weakens your body's immune system being that it's trying to repair itself from the intense workout. So being that you need your immune system at 100% to fight off the cold it would be best to rest.

If its just a cold i always try to work through it. i can't stand lying around the house feeling like crap so i do something about it. Once i workout i feel alot better and more energized. Maybe its all in my head but i don't care, if it makes me feel better for x amount of time i'll do it.

The flu and such is a whole new ballgame.... i just stay home and play madden for 12-15 hours lol
