There is obviously a bunch of incorrect information on the issue or we would all have a more correlating opinion, with each other. The issue is politcally charged because if man is having a drastic influence on the environment of the world and thus effecting others percieved future, negatively, well then there is an arguement that the government should step in and regulate the environmental factors that are negatively effecting humans. Which is the liberals position in antagonizing class warfare and broadening government power.

When the sun gives off more radiation in our direction, the earth heats up, when compared with the increased solar activity, I think this makes the most since. Our weather is dependent on solar weather. Man obviously impacts the environment - that's what we do to survive but IMO, we are not the main variable, responsible for global climate changes. We didn't cause the Ice Age and we didn't cause the end of it and I don't think we have much to do with this era's global climate either. Yeah, we burn fuel but the environment does that too, without our help.

That rings true to me. Nature is overwhelmingly more powerful than humans. I think we don't even understand what caused the various ice ages very well. It is ****ing hot though!

I have to disagree with this. For one you can't compare the Ice Age to global warming, as the Ice Age had more to do with the natural shifting, which is nothing to do with an impact caused by un-natural or man made causes. Also, yes the environment does create some natural release, but it is from nature, not chemicals from emissions and by product waste from industry. There were no emissions/waste created by vehicles or industry back in the Ice Age, or satellites causing probs with the ozone layer of our atmosphere. I will agree that there are natural cycles that happen periodically, but the increase of solar radiation is increased because of the ozone layer being destroyed. You mark my words, within 10yrs there will be major cities in the mid and se coast that will be underwater with much more dramatic super storms and weather changes. The ppl that can make change happen need to step it up, but im afraid by the time it comes to fruition it will be too late.

But, this is what I was attempting to point out. The earth has undergone significant climate changes before man even created "un-natural" things.

Lets assume that the Ice Age was associated with a natural shifting. What is this shifting in reference to? The sun.

From what I understand of the ozone it is created by the reaction of oxygen to ultraviolet rays from the sun. That is why the ozone holes are both over the poles (at different times of the year), in the absense of ultraviolet rays, depending on the planets position to the sun.
