Tweeti've always used sony cybershots...had good luck with them. for that price range you may even be able to increase megapixil
TweetOK, I am looking for a digital camera and need some help. I know I want at least 3mp, an optical zoom, and a timer...other than that, I don't want to spend more than $200. There are so many in that price range with options that I am really not understanding. What brands are really good and will hold up, my hubby will be using at work occasionally, so it will have to stand up to a little abuse.
You'll like it in my imagination......its fun there.

TweetI have a cybershot, too!
TweetPersonally, I feal that unless your taking professional pictures or planning to print out supersized versions of your pics, anything over 3MP is wasted.
Lense size! It's very important! The larger the lense, the better low-light pictures you can take. Also, the exposure time is faster... meaning better action shots and less chance of bluring from moving the camara while taking a pic.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.
TweetOh, thats good advice GG, thanks!

TweetHey Kitten,
Check out https://www.dpreview.com/ for details. I've got a Canon A70, love it. Canon's got the white balance thing figured out.
TweetThanks Red...that is good to hear, because here is my update..
After hours of looking around I had a Sony picked out, stoped at the local Walmart to see if I liked it...made the mistake of taking my husband with me. Now I think we are going to get a Canon because it uses the size of memory cards that they all ready have at his office. It is nice, I called my dad and told him about it, he thinks its a good deal. Walmart has it on sale for $198, so I think I will go back and get it today. It is the Canon P75 (I think) 3.2 MP optiacal and dig zoom..red eye out, auto flash...all that jazz, and some other stuff that I really don't know what it means...lol

TweetI have a nikon cool pix.. .comes in various levels of mega pix... i like the camera a lot... very easy to use. i think dirty south bought one too...
TweetThe A75 is the updated A70. You'll like, easy to use when you want easy, but you can manually adjust when you want to get techy. Have fun...
TweetCheck e-bay, I got a shelf demo from a computer store for like $90.00. It works great for 99% of the stuff I need it for.Originally Posted by Kitten
TweetWish I would have read this thread a little sooner but just in case you haven't purchased it yet here is what I think. All the computer geeks I work with have either Nikons or Fuji. From the pics I've seen I think Fuji is the best. Sony sucks, I've used 2 different Sony digi cams and they both sucked! For more info on camera's you can go to www.stevesdigicams.com (I think the "s" might be left out at teh end).
TweetI did but it yesterday on my lunch break, I bought a cannon, from the things I looked at the Nikon rated half star higher, but I didn't like how it felt in my hand, so I figured for comfort I got the cannon...I used it last night a couple times to test...I liked it. Oh, and the Nikon on display in the store had a piece broken off around the lens.....they should really put a new one out. I think that also played a part in my decision.
But thanks for the info.
