TweetThe following appeared in the Durham, NC local paper as a letter to the editor.
Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war.
They complain about his prosecution of it.
One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history.
Let's clear up one point. President Bush didn't start the war on terror.
Let's try to remember. it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11.
Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.
FDR led us into World War II
Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.
Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us.
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.
John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter 3 times by Sudan and did nothing.
Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
Over 2.900 lives were lost on 9/11.
In the 2 years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.
In doing this, we lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year.
Bush did all this abroad, while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.
Worst president in history? Come on!
Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51 day operation.
We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd infantry division and Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!
Our military is GREAT!

TweetJohn, the US could use a lot more people with your common sense on these topics.
Tweethmmm. pull out a map and show me the country "terrosist". I'll save you the time because there is not one.
Iraq had very very little to do with 9/11. It was afgan and even more than Iraq is Saudi Arabia.

TweetActually that's where you are wrong. They found documents about 6 months ago that linked high ranking Iraqi officals to Bin Laden and Al-Qaida during the 90's. So, there was a link. Whether he actually funded any of 9/11 or not is not the question. Iraq was in contact with Al-Qaida during Saddams term.Originally Posted by Ryker77

Over 1,000 dead currently, but good post.

Is a link in the 90's worth the Billions of dollars spent?
I'll start a new thread on the Micheal Moores movie.

TweetDon't agree with the article. Economy is the worst in 30yrs, oil up, millions of lost jobs, outsourcing, health care cost skyrocket and don't even have insurance for their children. Where is Bin Liden?? And our biggest threat is N. Korea. We are spending billions on a country that never wanted us there to begin with and I believe this is what started the 9/11 in the first place. We have over 1000 of our men dead and how many more will die. We need a better plan.
Tweeti wish there was more of people like you...
all that bush and his crew is doing, has nothing to do with whatever they portray it to be... it's all about MONEY. who can get more money before they get kicked out.
as for 'wining the war', GREAT JOB! i mean it was really hard to beat those mean undertrained farmers with no shoes or proper clothing using their modern and highly destructive WMD..... the AK 47.

Just how my "terrosists" err US citizens would fight for there land? I know that I'd be able to personally take 100+ with any extra ammo. Of course it would hit and run ambush type attacks. Last time on the range I put 10 for 10 at 300 yards rapid fire and 7 out of 10 at the 500 yard line.
The US service members is lucky that the Iraqi's dont understand markmanship or have a good straght shooting weapon.
Bush said something the other day to bash Kerry. He said we will win the war on terror not just lower it to a nucince (sp). At least Kerry knows that we will never be able to fully win.
