I have good results with it-- and it is funny that you bring this up...I had slacked off on it (I am on cycle) and sure enough -- it came back to haunt me.

I take routinely 1000mgs a day...but I do know people that only see relief at 3g (yes 3000 mgs) a day.

Where do you get this Dauc from??, and is it better than the scripts. I have some on my delts and sides of biceps only, but its becomming a nuisance. It seems like every time one goes another is there to replace it..lol.

Duac is a prescription cream..antibiotic and benzoyl peroxide blend that has buffering agents to keep the skin from drying out too much. AWESOME STUFF...but alot of insurance companies do not cover it -- and it can be pricey. The shelf life of one tube is not long either -- unless you keep it refrigerated. Cleocin lotion can be just as effective and alot less money (generic: clindaymyacin).

B5 helps -- but it is not a cure all. Minocin works wonders as does doxycycline and tetracycline.

Believe it or not -- simple hydrogen peroxide is helpful to areas like the back and shoulders.

blm -- well yeah it is a good sign but the pharmacist told me not to stock up and keep it in the fridge. The shelf life at room temp is supposed to be only like 4-6 months ... and my tube has lasted A LONG TIME...super long.

The pharmacist also said that very few people knew to keep it in the fridge -- so I do it just because I can be anal!

      Really? That is odd.

If anything ... it does feel good nice and cold on the skin!

Well, i really don't want to get a script for this Dauc, but i think my insurance would pay. What do you consider the best over the counter for what i have (hydrogen peroxide)? Like i said its just on the delts and sides of my biceps. Tanning does help, but after their gone they leave these little red dots that haven't seemed to dissapear?

Hmmmm..well a retinoid would be best for the marks that get left behind...and that is RX too.

But I have heard mederma helps with scarring as well as Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Beta Hydroxy Acids...which help in skin turnover and exfoliation. Drug store brand moisturizers and cleansers contain them...as do some upscale department store brands. DDF (sold at Macy's and Nordstroms) have a good line out there - you may wish to have a look (also on the web -- Dr. Howard Sobel is the derm behind the brand).

I would attack it with a combo of methods -- hydrogen peroxide over the affected area and some sort of topical to combat the acne once a day -- and then hydrogen peroxide and a AHA or BHA once a day (morning/night kind of routine). The Duac does nothing for the marks.

Those do heal over time on their own -- but some people take longer than others.

Tanning actually gave me more acne. Cystic acne popped up all over and I never got that before. Stopped tanning and they all went away.

I have been taking minicycline for close to a month now. It definantly helped out, but has not cured it. I was hoping the B5 might be the edge i need.

hydrogen peroxide, itches like a *****.
