TweetSo I was more embarrassed then how bad it hurt. I had 385 on the bench the guy lifted it to far out and he had his hand 1 ontop of the bar the other hand underneath I told him both hands the same way on top then just lift up and I got it but when he lifted the weight off the rack and it went to far out one side felt it was going to the right and when I tried to adjust the weight it slipped out of my right hand. Holy Fuk it just crashed down on my right lower pec and I saw stars immediately and was about to pass out but for some reason I didn't and started to Roll the weight down and by then the guys had it off me. I sat there for a few minutes didnt move then I stood up and Thank God 2 paramedics were working out when it happen. They put me through some tests and I started to feel better. Still in shock I felt my ribs to see if anything was broke didnt feel like it. My adrenaline was still jacked so I put back on 135 did it but then said I'm going home. On the way home the pain came and it hurt. So now we go to the Care center get X Ray's nothing broke just bruised Thank God. This happened Sunday 4 days ago. Monday I went and rode the bike still very sore but was able to do some very light bicep curls on the preacher bench. Tuesday did Triceps I pretty much just did my one heavy set like a 80yr old man but did it then went home. Yesterday did Shoulders and it loosened up big time. Pain was going away still hurt but not as much. My breathing was better, that sucked every breath I took hurt. So today is back let's see how that goes. Certain movements are ok some dont go well yet. I'm hoping by Monday I can do my chest with no pain. Guys make sure your spotter knows how you like your lift off. I'm kinda nervous to go heavy it's all mental right now but well see.
I'm lucky I didnt die that weight 385 crashing down theres no words to describe it.Mabey it's a sign telling me stop going heavy at my age lol

TweetDamn man. Bruised ribs last a long time! Ibuprofen and ice will help reduce inflammation to expedite healing.
TweetHe is good, just may need to slow down a bit

TweetMan I know what you mean. I had a guy on each side while attempting 500 on squats (my very first time with that weight). I explained to them both to just help me get it unhooked from the rack and then move. (the rack setting was either too high or too low due to the owner not placing the black rubber flooring in the squat rack) Anyway, i lifted up and began to walk it out, the left side felt insanely heavier than the right, i was actually forced to lean to the left because it was so much heavier than the right. It almost crushed me but managed to put it back in the rack. I double checked my positioning and the weights on each side... all was good... so why so heavy on the left? I attempted again and the exact same thing happened. A friend video taped it and come to find out the idiot on the right side helped lift it out of the rack but didnt let go, he held it up the entire time!! lol What a dumbass.
This was the guy, old man on the right. He finally got it right lol

TweetIve hit that twice in my life, i was more focused on reps and bodybuilding than powerlifting. Now ive changed gears and focusing on powerlifting, i dont see me being able to compete as a bodybuilder again.

TweetSorry to hear this man. But maybe it’s for the best. I’d stick to maybe heavy dumbbells. Lots of dips, push-ups...you’ll be just fine buddy
