TweetMan I honestly have no idea, as this is completely out of my wheelhouse. However, I've been wanting to get a boat for a while now, so I'm bumping this for more info for you. (And me)
TweetI am thinking of getting a good used 10' Jonboat. Don't want a trolling motor but use oars only. What are the oar holders called that offer a pivot point for the oars. Kind of like you see on row boats or those racing boats where each person mans a pair of oars.
Wouls a boat made of PVC hold up to the stress?

TweetOar locks or oar mounts? I do not think PCV would work well.
Just looked it up after typing. Here ya got. Probably buy the two parts separately and save a few bucks, the locks and the mounts i mean.

Why not a trolling motor.
I have a kayak and i wish I had a trolling motor while fishing.
TweetI may get a kayak but to carry me easily I have to get a tandem.
Why not a trolling motor
In KY it has to be licensed every year and pay taxes on it if it has any kind of motor and it will be good exercise.
TweetHere too. you have to license your watercraft.
It is just way easier to fish with one is the only reason. Also time it takes to get places. Paddling is slow.
