TweetMe hurt Me cant play like I want to. Pay me my money and let me get better with chance to come back.
TweetWhat a ***ing *****. lol
What do you think of him retiring like that?
I dunno, I guess when you have made about 50 million and youre in pain all day long. who knows. I kinda dont blame him but other guys have endured worse out of love for the game. Montana had a bunch of back surgeries and played till he couldnt anymore, etc. Some guys are obsessed with winning a super bowl at all costs. Peyton Manning had neck surgeries and numb arm and battled back to win a super bowl. It was surprising that a guy who was known as being a tough sob would go out this way. I know blue collar workers making 20 bucks an hour who deal with way more pain than Drew Luck. Oh well.

TweetGood decision. I love football but its past time that this countries elite athletes go no where near a football.
I read an article today about the NY Jets great wide out Wesley Walker.if you are old enough to remember there is no way you could forget #85. The graceful. Acrobstic, actually blind in his left eye Jets superstar. So good he sometimes made Ken O'Brien look like Tom Brady.
Well, Wesley is now 55. He can no longer stand straight and walks hunched over.he also said he csn do anything without Vicoden and can not sleep at all without ambien. I mean s guy who at onr time was the perfect athletic specaman.
Junior Seau shot himself to death, on a good fay, at 50, Jim McMahon can possibly tell you his name. Hall of fame wide reciever Michael Irvin has stated he would never allow his children to plsy football. The list goes on full of suicides, symptoms of dementia 30 years early, severe deprssion.
Professional football players are the best athletes on the planet. Do not even try to tell me Wesley Walker could not have played center field for a pro, MLB baseball team.Ill hate to see it go but its way past the time that all footballs are put away for good.

Tweetbeing in pain and tough are one thing but i can tell you that dealing with it day in and day out year after year sucks ass. if you have the chance to shut it down and have a little less wouldnt you take the chance? could even be that he sees what pg is talking about and after of couple years of feeling run over he figured out that it really isnt worth not knowing your name or being able to walk by 50.

TweetHe is smart. He could keep playing and increase the probability of the reduction of quality of the rest of his life. He is a Human being first and a football player as a profession. Hell he has enough $$$ to live the rest of his life more than comfortably. I respect a guy who has all of that pressure on him to play and obviously still the desire to play but makes the decision based on what is best for himself and his family long term.
*****? No, doing what you want to do even though you have people throwing $$$ at you and there are people screaming at you that you owe them. He is a strong man to say "Nope, see ya"
Tweeti didnt read into why he retired but if he was in pain from playing then i dont blame him get out while you still have a life..props to him...
TweetHis income is pretty much like winning the lottery. What did he make? Maybe $100 Million. He's only 29? He doesnt have to work another day in his life if he doesnt want to. Thats gotta be pretty damn nice to be set for life at 29. Ya, I would buy a farm on a tropical island and say good bye to the rest of the world.
TweetYeah good for him I say. Having to play in that much pain must really suck.

TweetSome guys are super passionate about football and football is life and others its a job. There have been a few football players who quit just because they wanted to be able to soke weed without being hassled. I don't blame the guy, you got more money than you can ever spend, your already battling injuries and pain. Go out on top and become an announcer, coach high school, you can still be involved with the sport should you chooose to be without destroying your body and mind
