I do not have one, I have thought of getting one for when I am not home. Just a bit of security for the wife and property. I have cams front and back. Do I really need a security system? How much a month for service? Are they reliable?

      Pros/cons......

      Please discuss.

It all depends on the package, we have one that comes with door bell camera that is always recording sound and video along with a camera out front, garage door opener, remote locks, motion detection inside, all controlled by a app on your phone and a panel inside your house. You can get more or less from most security company’s. We pay 55$ a month till the equipment is paid off then it drops down to like 40$ a month or something like that.

you might check to see if you have some local guys do it. i did it when i built my house he wired everything and installed the equipment and i pay him like $300.00 a year for monitoring. they monitor for smoke and fire also. he also installed a camera out front at my gate thats hooked up to a dvr thats on the internet i can see the camera on my phone when i am at work or on the computer..

i'd call around and try to find a local guy..

It’s called Vivint I’m not really sure if it’s local or national but we had Brinks before that and it’s pretty similar. And yeah they tried telling us to front it with Brinks but we declined and paid it monthly.

i have 2 and my little one is the most vicious but my big one will bark and bite. the only bad thing is my big one is old as hell now and going blind. so his security days are over and the little one cant do much damage at all. i do have a security system also and of course guns for when i am home.

HAHA, I was taking a pic of him and the doorbell rang. He cannot help but bark. If someone broke in he would bark then run and hide probably.

Yes, Ive spoken to vivint a while back. Not sure why I didnt go with them. I think they wanted me to pay up front for all the cameras and installation, etc but not sure. Maybe I will call vivant again and see what they say.
Ive seen some pretty elaborate camera systems at Sam's with a lot of cameras. That would be ideal but not sure what is involved with installing all that. Maybe I could just hire a pro to put it all in. I would love to have views of ewvery part of my property. I can keep an eye out for the dogs too
