TweetNo but I plan on proposing for a second wedding next year with a much larger ring. We will get married in the church this time. We have been married 11 years now.
We planned on getting married in the church last time but good old catholic church couldn't get their shlt together. Then they said we didn't need a few things like the marriage prep. It was q little disheartening. Anyway it's just a formality we both appreciate being catholic but far from a requirement.
TweetI may for a 10 or 15 year we are at 7 now, but I’m just gonna get her a third band till then, the first ring really means the most so idk we have been back and forth about it.
TweetOur lady's take that sentimental sh!t seriously. Same dilemma.
TweetI haven't even been married a full year yet, so I'm still good with the first one thus far lol.
Tweetyeah but I bought my wife a $90 pawn shop ring when we first got together. She never complained, but I got her a davis sachs setting with diamonds you could see without an electron microscope.
Question: why the hell do we feel compelled to spend so much $$$ on a ring? Why not use cubic zirconia? Cheap, looks as good as a real diamond but 1/20th the price, you cannot tell unless you are a jewler with a jeweler's equipment. So why? seems like a waste of $$$.
Now I am ranting...........so take the $6-7,000 you would spend on a ring and $10-15K you would spend on a wedding and use it for either a baller honey moon or a down payment on a house?
We married at the Justice of the peace.
TweetWife said she would be good with a cz. It makes me want something even nicer for her.
TweetKEEPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always felt that having to have diamonds is very pretentious and materialistic. (My man, better get me a ring bigger than Janet's ring)
It should be a symbol of commitment and love, not a status symbol as many people see it.
TweetI have a buddy that spent 20k on a ring for his first wife. I think the marriage lasted 5 years. I bet the 2nd wifes ring didn't cost 30% as much.

TweetThe size of the ring doesn't make a difference but yes a lot of gals like a biggie. Fuzo gave me mine 22 years ago and at first I said that was way to much but that is what he wanted to give me. Not planning on doing any changing to it.
Veritas Vos Liberabit
TweetHe planned that shIt. I just went for it right there and then. No regrets.
TweetI pulled it off and gave my lady a MUCH better engagement ring. She always loved the original one but i wanted her to have an even better one. Half planned / Half Winging it. Totally caught her by surprise.
Tweetto me I keep the first one.. that's the one I asked you with and the one she will keep.. that's just me.. to me that's the one that means the most to me..
TweetI'm about to get engaged and I got her a 2 Karet yellow diamond, princess cut, in 24 caret white gold. $16,500. She is cool ss shit and would have been happy with a 2,000$ ring. But I'm 47, never been married, never thought I would, and to me she's just the most important person in the world. So,I want her to remember that everytime she sees that ring on het finger.
