My Dog
TweetMy dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.
He has his food prepared for him.
He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise.
For this He pays nothing, and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than He needs, but He is not required to do any upkeep.
If He makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free.
He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head,

JFT that is a great looking dog. miss my black lab gus. he had the wettest mouth ever and would bring back a bird so slimy you had to grab it with a towel or your gloves with be soaks and slick but he was a good boy none the less.

TweetIt is what we sign up for as pet owners....my 3rd lab...love them all dearly. Each has their own special personalities, quirks and great memories. My last boy Murphy was a hunting machine...had to put him down at 11 with cancer...he pheasant hunted full tilt a week prior. When overheated, he would find a muddy tractor rut and lay in it so only his eyes and nostrils were above water...gotta find a pic.
They all live lives which are too short...in the coming weeks we will be loosing our 8 year old Bernese who has bladder cancer....

they are but they do serve a valuable purpose. my dog would wake me up if someone broke in the house in the middle of the night. he would not bark or growl but run to grab his squeaky toy to see if the new friend would play with him. I will take it
