TweetBoth are good and carry lot of rounds in the mag. I already have a 9 mm. But if not I would choose the .40 for the bigger piece of lead and not much more recoil.
TweetThinking about my next purchase and I can't make up my mind on whether to go with a new 9mm or .40 S&W. I have a .45 (Sig) and love it, but can't decide what I want for my next one? Any opinions? Advantages of one over the other?

Tweetbaretta 9mm. Used one in the army for five years and loved it.
TweetI'm finding positives for both lol. 9mm ammo seems to be more prevalent and a bit cheaper, but I do love the larger round of the .40. Both also carry quite a few more rounds than my .45. Decisions, decisions haha.
Tweeti stick with the 9mm. ballistics are not up to par with the .40 but damn close and the felt recoil is way lower as well as capacity is higher. also cheaper ammo.
I had a glock 22 and it was a handful. i sold it and got a 9mm. NO REGRETS
Tweetbetter control imo with the 9mm for the most part but i have always had the fear of over penetration with the 9mm even with expanding ammo. i just dont like the risk in my home

TweetSo far, I'm seeing more positives with the 9. The .40 is just so tempting though. The difference between the 9 and my .45 is night and day, so i figured the .40 would be a happy medium. Factoring in the price of ammo, the 9 is definitely more cost efficient.
Like 6p6 said, maybe just a reason to get both.
TweetI carry both my glock 43 (9mm) compact single stack and my 27 (40mm) compact but normal stack...
The 9 is much better for concealment but I'm much more accurate with the 40.

TweetHave shot the glock 10
Mm yet that is what I'm looking for
TweetI like my 9mm Beretta. It's a great gun, very accurate, it doesn't jam to often, and the bullets are pretty cheap
Tweetunless they have ironed out all the problems with the 10mm stay away from it. tons of issues and ammo can be damn hard to find also

Tweetgreat weapon except when it is fouled or used in extremes. it also does not hold up to hot loads worth anything. that's from a military stand point. when we would go to a shooting course we would bring 20-30 extra along because they break down very very badly. the locking blocks would shatter from the loads we used
