man at my gym their are two guys that have legs that are good enough to rock leggings and one is pretty soft in the off season. the other 99% that wear them have chicken legs at best. i have some pretty good legs and i wont wear them but then again i dont show off what i am rocking top or bottom. i even went so far to tell a couple dudes i know that if they ever see me rocking leggings they have my full permission to kick me right in the nuts.

now for performance and compression, i am all about it but cover that shit up. i wear compression shorts under my shorts on leg and back day to keep my legs tight ie... for performance and it does work. but i really dont need my calves compressed for performance so why wear a full length? if i were a runner, maybe. but other than that you are a fucking douche if you are wearing pants that your wife or girl friend does

i dont want to see a man or woman's moose knucke as an added note. and i will also toss this factoid out there for both sexes: just because it comes in xl xxl xxxl xxxxl or bigger dont mean that you should be wearing it in public. that goes for boy shorts also. if i can see your balls or your vag laying on the bench between your legs, then you probably shouldnt be rocking it in public. and the girls that complain about being eye humped by the dude's in the gym. um news flash, if you can see your vagina in or out of your pants or shorts then men are going to look at it. nuff said lmao

i have no idea about the legging thing. looks dumb to me. if you have badass legs then why cover them? I thought maybe they were warm in the winter but i see them on 85 degree days.

you know what's funny and i thought of with your post? now keep in mind i am a southern guy and lived in the mtns for 99% of my life. the guys that are rocking this stupidly are the same people that used to and probably still make fun of the guys that wear wrangler jeans (that's from my day) or skinny jeans. hey fellas, news flash, their is no freaking difference in the two hahaha haha haha

TweetI think as it was pointed out, it's just a fashion trend for most.

It's still early in the year, so there are a lot of resolutioners still around and just people new to fitness in general who I'm sure only walk by the "athletic" section of a department store or buy things when they get an e-mail about a great sale from Groupon.

IMO (at least) there's also a clear distinction between what I'd call leggings and compression pants. I certainly hope there aren't any men wearing leggings lol.

I have 2 pairs of compression pants. I wore them under old baseball pants in the flag football league I play in during the Winter months and I wear them under sweats and jeans when I'm out in the winter (usually shoveling or horrible driveway lol). I've worn them while doing legs at the gym, but it's usually under a pair of sweats. I think I've worn them once with a pair of shorts over them. And my reasoning for that is simply that despite the fact that I work my legs and I think they're in good condition (could always improve, but that's the struggle I think all of us have), I don't want to sport my whole package lol. That's really the main issue.

And as for a reason I like the full compression pants instead of just shorts; particularly when doing isolated hamstring work, it's nice to not have my skin making contact with the pads on some of the machines because of sweat or because they're torn up from age, too.


But as a whole, I'd like to see more modesty in the gym. It's the new bar.

TweetI havent seen too much of this at my gym, but I had a chick recently tell me that she is annoyed by all the guys she sees in the gym wearing spandex leggings under basketball shorts..LOL
