I think maybe IF is one of those things that works for a few people and not others. I know a guy that did it and he was ripped, he wasnt a very big guy in the first place so idk how it would do maintaining muscle mass, but it worked for him. Theres no way i could do that tho. Id be pissed all day everyday if i couldnt eat lol.

I did use Humapro throughout my fast though and I really think that played a roll in how I responded.

what lk did wasnt an actual if program. it was a modified one that fit into her needs and i wouldnt actually lump it into the same thing as if. she had some protein in there during her fasting so that wouldnt actually 100% constitute fasting.

now a traditional if program would have you going 16-20 hours per day with nothing. no food or calorie intake whatsoever, then pushing all your cals and macros into that small window that you are given. like you pointed out animal it does work for some people but the vast majority it does not. going with just the idea that in even a small starvation mode forces your body to compensate by storing pretty much everything for fat, just for survival. that's why we stall out on our diets with no changes, your body isnt hard wired to do what you want it to do.

what i would rather see someone do, if they are bouncing back or just trying to tighten up is a iifym as opposed to if. now with the iifym, i would still try to regulate it to some degree. on that setup you still will have some people that will thrive and others that wont budge an inch. most normal people that arent really lean to begin with dont do well for long on either type of these setups
