TweetMy dad has one and absolutely loves it. I'm always impressed when I visit and he's smoking something. I've been thinking about picking one up myself. He always has the best smoked turkey every Thanksgiving.
TweetI picked up one of these smoker/grills over the holidays and so far so good. I've been smoking everything in sight. I'm blown away by the spectrum of food items you can cook on this thing, from pizza, cheese, bacon to your ordinary meats. I know people who even smoke muffins on theirs, (I'm not sure I'll be trying that but they swear by it.) Has anyone heard of these grills or is it just a west coast deal?

TweetI BBQ all winter long.
Would love to start Smoking
What brand are you using?
TweetO OK I see it on your header . {Traeger }
I did a search on the net. Looks like some high end smokers and grills
TweetI have heard of them did some research and went with the rec tec out of Georgia, traeger had some issues in the past I hope they have worked out , leaking smoke and unable to hold constent heat being another. there warranty also sucked. now from a guy I know who has one says you got to watch the auger, sometimes it doesn't keep up right and will catch fire so keep it clean.. those pellets can accumulate quick.
try different pellets theres a lot of great reviews out there on them and if you want a smokier taste look for the smoke tube on amazon. would be curious as to yours .. let us know how the 225 does for you with brisket.. that's always the selling point for me with the pellet smokers.
good luck dude
Tweetbaby1 loves grilling in the summer

Tweetpellet smokers are great. i use a regular smoker. they have to be babysat unlike the pellet kind. but i love smoking all sorts of food from peppers to meats.
on cheat day
take a pork tenderloin split it almost all the way through, fill the cavity with cheddar cheese and jalapenos. hammer flat some chicken breast and wrap the tenderloin. cover the outside of the breast with BBQ sauce. then wrap the whole thing with BACON!!!!!!!!! (use toothpicks to hold it all in place.) coat with dry rub and cook at 225+- until center is 180+-
i won a freestyle BBQ comp with this creation. (freestyle is self explanatory stuff other than ribs, brisket ect.)
TweetSounds delicious. I'll have to give it a try!
Tweetoh it is. I am jealous of your smoker. pellet smokers are shunned by pros, probably because they can take a guy like you or me and help them create major good BBQ like them. I want one bad.
be crazy with your creations. brisket stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos. i have wrapped andouille sausage with duck breast. smoked all sorts of peppers and veggies.
i love BBQing.
Tweeti got one a couple years ago. it was a cook shake brand by fast eddie.. real smoker when I have used it it worked great but it has a computer chip issue I need to re-set it.. when I move I have a huge back porch I can put it on..
TweetI really need to invest in a smoker
Tweetpeople can knock the pellet smokers but they have there place. really I kinda see them as outdoor convection ovens that you add woor to really.. you can cook pretty much anything on them just as a regular oven...
since where talking smoke I cant leave out the "little chief" either. still dig the shit out of that thing and reallyworks well on lower heat smokes.. I haven't ventured to the smoked cheese but have eatin plenty of others who have.
I really enjoy slow and low smoking jalopeno bacon .. 4, 5 hr. then right before you eat it crisp it up on the grill with high heat.. I do tend to hig heat grill most smoked stuff at the end for more flavor
