From day one she's only loved people, to the extent she licks them non stop. Also had a 14 year old beagle and 2 cats that she loves to death. Granted the two cats aren't as affectionate towards her as she is with them. When my beagle had to be put down last November Gracie was heartbroken

By the way I am not saying what people did with this race of dogs is wrong. I raised Labs for hunting and buried 3 dogs for being gun shy.

What people tend to believe is that they have a lock jaw which is a myth, they do not have a locking jaw they have a very strong jaw and like all the dogs listed tend to not want to let go if they are attacking another animal or person. One if the reasons this is because people train them to hold onto whatever they bite. Most of the people that believe this to be true are the same people that believe making guns and drugs illegal works, sorry but it doesn't. Any dog can be trained to attack and be an aggressive dog, it's just a shame that the Pitbull because of its drive to please it's owner is exploited in this manner.

I love animals, all of them! These dogs are def cute. The thing I have noticed with some people is that when they have one they like think they are " bad ass" because they have a Pitt, lol. That's just a vibe I get from some I have known. I say you can be bad ass and have a Yorkie! Yes these Pitts are adotable

Agree and I am going to say (but)which logically mean I don't agree. Man has dominion over the animals of this earth and those who chose to breed Pit bulls did so for fighting. End results is if you have a baby in your back yard and a Pit Bull jumps the fence be concerned. 1 through 4 also.

Not all breeders, you have your ghetto irresponsible breeders which 9/10 never breed a registered (with papers/pedigree) dog and then you have your responsible breeders that breed quality dogs to preserve the breed standard mostly registered dogs. I bread blue pits for awhile dual registered ADBA and UKC. I bread for quality traits and temperment. The picture I'm posting is 1 of the females I kept from the last litter I had with my daughter. My daughters always did this to all my dogs, poked eyes pulled ears and tail and my dogs would literally just sit or lay there until they got tired of it and got up and walked away. This is not to say you won't have breeders that just breed for money or size or aggressive behavior "for protection" which you can always just train to protect without the baseline aggressiveness. Same concept of responsible gun owners vs crazy people or drunk drivers and responsible drivers. People blame the dog, and the gun, but not the car or the spoon for making you fat. image.jpg

i am going to counter your comments on this one. and i am not disagreeing with you i am just going to point a few things out:

when is the last time you saw a dobe(which i have owned and love) mastiff or shepard swinging back and forth hanging from a rope in the back yard until their gums bleed for fun? when is the last time you saw on the news where children were attacked and killed by any of the breeds you have listed above. prime example i can note is their were 2 kids in my area 7 and 9 that were attacked while riding their bikes and killed by a trio of pits not to long ago. those dogs had to be shot by police because they wouldnt stop attacking 2 were killed and the other ran off. you can claim training and owner ship all day long but it only takes one time and one time only and that's enough. i actually had one of my dobes bite me when i was bathing him and he had never even growled or attempted to bite and he was very well trained and one of the best dogs i ever had. like i said i have no problem with dog breeds of any kind but i am pointing out the obvious.

now on your gun comments. you cant compare gun ownership to dogs for a number of reasons well in one circumstance you can. 1- you have complete and total control over a firearm at all times. you have to load it, take the weapon off of safe point it at something and pull the trigger in order for it to fire. that's four different measures that prevent an accident or intentional injury from a firearm. now you can compare a crazy person owning a firearm to a dog. that is because for one a dog has a mind of it's own and if it decides to do what it wants to it is going to do it. a crazy person is kind of the same way, they are going to do whatever they want with that firearm regardless of their training or knowing the difference between right or wrong.

again i like the dogs and i have no problem with the dogs but to think you can absolutely 100% control something that has it's own mind is crazy

now on your gun comments. you cant compare gun ownership to dogs for a number of reasons well in one circumstance you can.

There are a few factors for which you don't see most of the other breeds in the news attacking someone, first and formost is because the most popular breed of dog to fight as well as what baby said to feel cool or tough is a Pitbull and both of these instances the dogs are not shown restraint and receive minimal if any training at all and are typically not socialized (if anything they are de socialized) for the reason that a dog will act more aggressive towards someone or another animal that it has no prior contact with and in the case of other dogs just not being around other dogs is enough for a dog to act aggressive towards any dog. Another reason is there are not as many Dobermans around as pitbulls and to an extent Rottweilers, 1 reason is the cost. Also these dog owners are usually more responsible because of the cost of the dog and will pay for training or train them properly themselves. Years ago all these dogs were in the spotlight as dangerous and viscous dogs. I'm not saying a properly trained pit bull won't attack someone, but it is far less likely to happen and a lot of times the dogs are provoked. Also a lot of what the media reports if you pay attention is almost always a loose pitbull which is part of my point of irresponsible dog owners. 9/10 a dog attack regardless of breed is in part due to a bad owner weather it's lack of training, improper training, or ghetto training (making them purposely aggressive but no control) coupled with insufficient fencing or leashing. I just wish the dogs were not blamed and instead the owners were made responsible. I'm not saying don't put down the dogs that due attack because most times those dogs can't be rehabilitated.

As a side note you have groups of people that will say the breed was bread for fighting and is the reason they are the way they are. This is just not true, bulldogs were also bread for fighting centuries ago granted the breed has been fucked by selective breeding and they live a horrible life now because of it and life expectancy is 6-7 years for most and they can't even procreate on their own now. You also have the Cane Corso (which I have now) this dog was bread for fighting lions and tigers in Ancient Rome, the gladiators would enter the coliseum with them, this is the reason their breed standard (although being changed now) is to have their ears cropped and tails docked.

As far as the gun control I was just comparing because it's similar in the sense of improper training in use of a gun is dangerous, improper storage is dangerous, and in the wrong hands they are even more dangerous.
