Funny story for my first set of wheels. When I was 15 I was living in the country with my uncle for a couple years because my Mom wanted me to try a smaller school. I bought a 1978 Mustang II off a friends' uncle for $500. It actually ran and looked pretty good but the pain was faded all over and it had some miles on it. Well, I didn't have a license yet so didn't really need it but my brother (a couple years older) needed a car and couldn't believe how nice that one was considering the price so he asked to buy it. I told him he could have it for $500 and I would just save for something else since I couldn't drive it yet. Long story short, he came over to buy it and my uncle had me park it up on the hill behind the house, which was a 45 acre plot of land that was mostly on a steep hill. We had a dirt road to drive up to the top that included a few switchbacks. The car was standard transmission and my brother was used to automatic so I told him he should wait for our uncle to get home to back it out and bring it down the hill since it was parked in a tight spot that required backing it down a the hill a ways. Well he didn't want to wait so he said he was going to get it. I will never forget this, I was sitting in our kitchen eating a can of raviolis when my little cousin (about 8 at the time) came running in yelling my name saying your brother just wrecked your car! The first thing I remember saying was "no, he wrecked his car" because I had the money already, and then I ran out to see if was okay. He was fine and was already walking down the hill but the car was flipped upside down. He rolled the car and totaled it but didn't get more than maybe 20 yards out of the spot and it flipped over the switchback. Boy do we get a laugh out of that now, but I felt terrible for him at the time because he spent his $500 and had no car to show for it.

By the way, my post above was my first car I owned, but previously I mentioned my first car as a Mercury because that was the first car when I was old enough to drive. The Mustang I owned for about a week and never drove it except in the field in front of our house.

1978 Buick Regal black with tan vinyl interior half vinyl top with a center council. I actually remember when my dad bought it off the showroom floor in 78. I had it a year and broke the frame jumping railroad tracks.

A 87 Nissan Stanza 5spd. It was dark blue. Put 2 12" pioneer subs and pioneer 6x9's with Kenwood 6 1\2's up front. Shit was booming! That car would go anywhere in the snow.
