So I've been in search of a larger safe to store and display, not only my firearm collection, but also some other collections such knives, watches and coins. Coscto has a Cannon 40 cubic foot for $1200. Looked for some other comps and this was a pretty good deal. Unfortunately the process took 4 weeks and delivery was set for yesterday. Very excited as I went out and already purchased a light kit, display stands, dehudifier, and monitor. So I took the day off from work, hired some movers at $250/hr to get this 700lb thing in the house and waited for the call. 2:30 comes around and an 18 wheeler pulls up, driver gets out of vehicle, goes to the rear and hops into the back and I don't see him for several minutes. Finally comes out with the safe, goes on the power lift, lowers to ground and wheels it off to my driveway. Immediately as I come out of the house I see the box torn, scraped and falling off in places. The guy continues to wheel it toward my house and I yell "Wait!, I want to check this out before you come any further". I see the guy get this look on his face like Sh*T. I pull away more of the box and it was obvious the safe tipped over possibly several times as there were black marks and dings all over it. Even the electronic key pad was busted. I said to him "you don't expect me to take this do you?" He says, "well you can take it and they can come out and fix it" . I was like Sorry man, you have to take this back to your truck. So pissed I took the day off and hired movers so I took my frustration out on the moving company. They, or someone, obviously knew this was damaged so I could have been notified prior to today. Waiting to hear back on their "resolution" as they called it.
