Tweetnot needing to know all the answers. I equate this to my spiritual life. I have searched for awhile to get a concrete answer to what God is and what I need to do to get in touch with it. The more I searched for answers the more confused I became. Everyone had a different religion and set of rules. I was listing to a woman talk the other night and she said something very simple and very powerful that struck me. She said that her understanding of God is that "it just is." She said she leaves it at that and lets the rest come to her. That works for me and I am very grateful that that is all I need to know today.

TweetThis reminds me of an interview with Mother Teresa:
My understanding is that both you and your higher power (named God in this specific instance) will both "hear" the unspoken thoughts of the other and simply understand what to do. I found it very insightful.Mother Theresa was once asked about her prayer life.
The interviewer asked, “When you pray, what do you say to God?”
Mother Teresa replied, “I don’t talk, I simply listen.”
Believing he understood what she had just said, the interviewer next asked, “Ah, then what is it that God says to you when you pray?”
Mother Teresa replied, “He also doesn’t talk. He also simply listens.”
There was a long silence, with the interviewer seeming a bit confused and not knowing what to ask next.
Finally Mother Teresa breaks the silence by saying, “If you can’t understand the meaning of what I’ve just said, I’m sorry but there’s no way I can explain it any better
There is also a view that when Jesus said "My Father and I are One", He was referring to Advaita Vedanta, which is an ancient Indian philosophical view that the universe is non-dual. Dualism means there are two things (in the simplest form). There is 'I' and 'Not I'. 'Not I' is everything that is not you and 'I' is you. In Advaita Vedanta, you are not separate from everything else...and everything is actually a manifestation of the power of God (called Brahman in Sanskrit). It is a view that is not fully understandable by most people in our current state, though someone with the mental and spiritual powers of Jesus COULD understand it. It is an interesting view.
TweetThe kids got ready for school without fighting..... wow.

TweetHard work paying off. I get scared of change even when its something I worked hard to get. I need to remember when I set goals to make sure that the thing I want to achieve is gonna be what I want in the end.

Tweetsome bonding time with my wife. We are doing a zombie run tonight. It's a 3k obstacle course where if you get your three flags stolen you become a zombie. It's pretty cool to have a partner with similar interests.
