TweetMy wife gets them all the time I'll pm I the name of the med she takes
TweetI've been struggling with severe migraines for about the last six months now and was just looking for some feedback from someone that may have been, or is currently enduring the same problems. I've been on prescription Imitrex for some time now, and it does help, but only about 50% of the time, for the other times, it doesn't do much of anything. I have slipped disk between the C6/C7 which causes some issues as well which my specialist prescribed tramadol for. I've been to my general practitioner several times and all they do is prescribe me high blood pressure meds...I understand that migraines result from increased blood flow to certain cranial muscles, however, this has done no good in terms of reducing these headaches, and as much as I tell Doc that it's not working, it pretty much falls on deaf ears. Eight years of total schooling at minimum for doctors, and you'd think they would at least know how to listen to their patients. I've also done the chiropractor thing, with some success but am still hunting and pecking to find the right doc. Anyways, any feedback would be appreciated.

TweetI get them also but I also have small seizures. the doc put me on an anti seizure medicine and it has helped both. I do experience auras still though

Tweetimitrex is wicked expensive with my insurance, my doc gave me ISOMETH/APAP/DICHLOR. had to copy and paste that as i do not know the trade name and that is what is on my pill bottle.
it works well. not 100% but will blunt a migraine at level 10 to a 4-5 so i can function and not writhe around sweating in agony on top of the sheets of my bed. I can watch TV or do dishes with it. you must catch it quick. if it starts the pills will help but not as much as if you nip it in the bud.
also helps with the sparkly halos i see. i have actually trained while having a minor migraine after taking this.
imitrex works best for me as it is 100% but i get real sleepy and cannot do anything.
i think this pill the doc gave me is a good in between. also i find if i get a cup of coffee right as it starts with the pill it is more effective.

Ask the doc about maybe trying an anti seizure med. there are many kinds and some do help migraines
