I go to Chicago a few times a year and every time it's a must to go to Giordanos or ginos or I have them freeze it for me I pick it up and have a piece of Chicago when I get home lol. I'm a pizza lover
The little neighborhood Italian joints in Chicago have the best. We have a friend whose family has owned an Italian restaurant on Clark street for over 40 years. Awesome food and his stuffed pizza is the best. Lou Malnatis is another popular Chicago Pizza joint but sivce I was raised in Chicago, I still prefer the Italian restaurants pizza
Are you from Chicago ? I live in Florida and have eaten a deep dish pizza from a Chicago style restaurant a long time ago and it was similar to the Chicago frozen deep dish they sell at my local supermarket . It's supposed to be like Gino's from Chicago and probably imitation at it's best . There are very little Chicago restaurants here in Florida . It's a lot of NY style and I haven't met a person yet from Chicago that likes NY and not sure why when prepared right it's some of the best on earth .
There used to be a Giordanos where I live and a shame they closed down a long time ago . Gino's now sells there own frozen deep dish at the supermarket and it's good . What I hate most is it takes so much longer to prepare and re-heat because it's so thick unlike a thin crust .
Damn I knew I shouldnt have opened this thread...lol
Man those are striking ! My mom said she noshed on pizza while she was pregnant with me, maby that's why I love it so much. As a matter of fact every Saturday is pizza day at my place, making my own is a blast.
