TweetIf its gonna be a daily driver get a jk 4 door. They ride so much better and have way morecomfort.
TweetI do not want a full size truck, won't fit in my garage. I really want a jeep. i have about $17,000 to spend. Looked at several wrangler Xs with 50K miles im my price range. i like xterras and FJs as well as the tacoma 4x4 which is more pricey
I know the rubicon has heavier duty parts and locking diffs but they are damn proud of those. 110K miles for $17K-20K
any other options? opinions?

Tweetmy dad got a jeep rubicon.. its a pig . got stuck in the desert when the circuit board or fuse board blew up(it was new) .. talk about a butt puckering day.. needless to say jeep wouldn't cover it on warranty.. remember it was brand new, got a lawyer 6 months passed jeep sat unfixed at dealer lawyer refunded money said he could not get any one to take responsibility. wished dad luck . towed jeep to shop paid out of pocket 2500 bucks to fix .. I am no longer a fan of jeep. older jeeps ok new jeeps fancy off road Chrysler product .
gas milage is ok but not what I thought it should be being a V6. its good in snow but lousy on hills and god forbid you try pulling a trailer (had a motorcycle behind it) it really didn't like the bike weight at all. my Nissan frontier has more power. IMO Chrysler products aren't really to good 17,000 would get you a nice Toyota Nissan or Honda.. it sucks to say it but personally haven't had any luck with American made vehicles in years.
TweetMy Tacoma was the best vehicle iv ever had and iv had some badass rides. Those things simply don't break down and re sell value is top notch.

TweetI had an H3 alpha that I put through absolute hell and it was a great SUV. Traded it after 170k but never had an issue. One on my all time favorite 4x4s. We traded it for a new 2500 crew can 4x4 and the extra room was nice but I would buy another h3 if I found one with 50k or so on it.
Tweetthat is what i really want but a 4x4 withy under 100K miles is still $20 just a bit out of my price range. i need at the least an extended cab for my family. the TRD ones are and extra grand on top of that.
i want a jeep because of the aftermarket and I can take off the top. i would take either one if the price is right
TweetYeah they are priced high for such a small truck. But I'm assuming it's due to re sell value. You could always find one that's a lil older that has a few more miles on it. Let me tell ya man those things are like civics when it comes to breakung down, its very rare when it happens. Gas isnt too bad im em either. But hope you find what your looking for, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you end up getting.
TweetInterested to see what you choose. I have actually thought about getting a jeep myself.

Tweetwent and looked at a 2012 wrangler sport with 27K miles factory warranty for 3 more years. all stock. he has all of the receipts for oil changes and maintenance. will post a pic as soon as i get it
