TweetGood article and very true. The U.S. is almost completely a police state. And sadly, it is not the minority of police who operate in such abusive manners, but the majority. I know there are still many good and decent cops out there but they are being replaced every day with young corrupt and immoral ones. Many decent cops and ex-cops have spoken out about this problem. I can recall some NYPD cops talking about this problem on a video interview with their faces blacked out. They explained that today in many law enforcement agencies if you are too nice you can get fired or punished, or simply ridiculed to the point where you quit.
The war on drugs probably is the start of our police state, however it is the courts and politicians that permit them to get away with it. Heck, I just read a story this morning where a man in NY City was resisting arrest so officers shot and hit two innocent by standards instead of the unarmed crazy man, and guess who was charged for the shootings, the unarmed man.
