TweetThat's great bro..I to made the decision awhile ago to stop with the nonsense. Congrats man
TweetWow, how time flies. I went through a few years when I was really drinking hard. Before that, I hardly drank at all. It got real bad in 2003 right when my dad died. I was stopping off at the sports bar after work, then go hoome and slamn a bottle of vodka. . Around 2008 I was kicked in the stomach by one of my horses and my insides bled and it was made real bad by drinking, but I binge drank on top of it all. Dont ask me why. Only some may really understand that...just about killed me. I still drank. Then one day I just said "I am now a non drinker" I told myself that alcohol was the most horrible thing on earth. I never went to AA. I never looked back. I never called myself an alcoholic and I still am not one ... I didnt think I could do it , it had gotten bad, but then one day I just did.
Recently I was sitting in a bar the night of my moms funeral a couple months ago with old friends, they were all drinking, except me, I had a glass of water. They asked "Arent you even tempted?" I said "No, not at all. Not in the least"...Someone then said "Damn bro, thats awesome. If you can go through all this with your mom and not drink, then I believe you will never drink again"...All I can say is how utterly grateful I am. Ok, thats all. Thank you for your time. lol

Tweetway to go my dude.
TweetThat is great to have such STRONG willpower and you consider that a great attribute. Many people just cannot instill the power of mind over matter and end really hurting themselves. My father was one of them. He smoked packs a day and drank starting at 9am, on top of being overweight. Doc told him you need to stop or your heart will fail. My dad had many lives because he had 6 heart attackes and that last one got him. However through it all, he could not stop drinking and smoking.
TweetThat is great Dzone. Congrats! Do you ever miss it? Fuzo hasn't drank in 8 years and I never drank. LIfe is good!!

Tweetway to go bro!!
TweetWow, thats so excellent baby1...Good to hear. I really dont miss it..when I ever stop and think about alcohol, I simply remind myself about the destruction that alcohol can bring on a person. I dont preach at anyone about it and I dont care if other people drink, but all I know is that I am a non drinker and I wouldnt trade thatfor anything. In fact it gives me a sense of self control and power.
I know how hard it is to quit drinking for many many people. My heart goes out to them because I remember how hard it was for me to stop. I tried and failed many times to quit. I remember going to AA meetings and then leaving and going to the liquor store. I didnt know if I coulld go a day without drinking. It got that bad. I dont have anything against AA, it just isnt for me and there are a lot of people who get sober without AA. If AA works for someone, then thats great. I just coulldnt see the long term benefit of repeating over and over andover "Im ****** and I am an alcoholic". But if it works for someone, then great.
Yes, life is good!
Tweetthats awesome man, i love hearing about stories where people empower themselves to do something without the help of someone or something else. too much dependency in this world and lack of self control. props to you for not letting alcohol tell you what your going to do. i quit smoking cold turkey, and what helped me do it is that thought alone "im not going to let smoking tell me what to do." you may be a strong dude physically, but your definitely a strong dude internally.
Tweeti know how you felt bro as i was a bad drinker about 15 yrs ago but i was like you able to say no and that was the end of it i can say i fell of the provable wagon once and start drinking real bad and my wife told me i had a choice her or the boose needless to say i chose her but it is one of the most important things i have every done. to say the least bro I AM PROUD of YOU and what you have done. Keep it up
With Hard work and Dedication you to can achieve GREATNESS......
TweetGood choice bro. I feel a lot better since I stopped going to the bar, but I still miss it. And not just the alcohol, but the entire atmosphere of it if you know what I mean.
