TweetThis is insane!!!! WTF is happening to this country????
DuPont contracts private paramilitary police force to terrorize farmers over GMOs
Tweetthat is crazy insane
Tweetwow. this is nuts.
TweetNothing insane about it, except for the use of word terrorize in the title. When a farmer signs there tech agreement to not replant the seed in which every farmer that purchases that seed does willingly they fully understand what they ae signing. You simply dont retain that seed for planting the next year. very simple. Dupont has every right to monitor these farmers that sign there agreement. I said monitor not terrorize them which they do not. there are thousands of farmers signing these agreements so it does take a few people to monitor thousands. There is nothing new or illegal about anything they are doing. Its been going on for over ten years. These companys have invested millions of dollars developing technoloigies that farmers are asking for and have every right to see that there agreements are being followed.
If you dont like the agreement you dont purchase there product, simple as that. As the article state there are other seed options out there. Unfortuantely these other options are getting harder to find as most prefer the gmo seeds for there simplicity in weed control. Now i dont agree with everything these companies are doing nor am I defending them but there are so many articles like this that are so skewed in how the come across the general public doesnt see or understand the whole story. I'm just trying to add to this a little to see the other side a little. I myself have signed this agreement, I have yet to be terrorized.....
TweetAlso, its not as if this whole so called police force goes to one farm. One individual will go to a single farm and simply ask to see all of his seed reciepts. If the farmer is in compliance the man leaves. Thats it.
