I recently was at Best Buy and tried on some Bose headphones. I forget how much they cost but they were crazy expensive. With these headphones, you can NOT hear anything other than whats coming thru the headphones. Totally blocks out all outside sounds. If someone is yelling at you, you cant hear them. You couldnt hear a siren. I dont think I like that idea. Seems a little dangerous.

Personally, I use some pretty cheap Headcandy headphones that are big and bright and noticeable. When I am in the gym, I want it to be obvious I have headphones on so lessens the chance someone is going to interrupt my workout and also people arent as likely to think you are a rude asshole. LOL

I sued to like the small ear bud types. I like those if I am running. But in the gym, I like a big set, of course they can get pretty damn sweaty, and not as comfortable as the bud kind. What kinds headphones do you like? Are the expensive ones all that worth it?

I had tried a few expensive sets and found myself always f*&cking with them at the gym.... Then I happened to find a cheap pair in the parking lot at walmart.. Sony ear buds.. cleaned em off and have been using them ever since!!!

I use the skull candy ear buds--I just like a little background noise to mask what's going on around.

I just bought a pair from Amazon that are bluetooth because they have no cords. They work pretty good. You can control your ipod or iphone from them and even make and receive calls from them. The only downside is that they make my ears hot as they are not buds but the over the ear type. Other than that, I like them. And they were only 29.00....I think they are Kinovo or something, I would have to look

I also have the yurbuds because they are good when you are running. They are the ones that you twist and lock into your ear. They are great but I just don't like the cords when I am doing certain exercises.

Personally I like the sound isolation because i don't want to hear anything going on at the gym. I have a pair of Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 Noise Isolating Earphones and these were about $200. However, these are the best sounding phones i have ever owned. Along with this i bought a customized cable cord for about $150 for even better sound as the cable that comes with the phones is bulky and has issues. Downside is that i have to try to take good care of them considering what i paid.

I guess i'm kind of a sound freak. I've ran a lot of the real high end stuff and most had pretty good sound but have had trouble with them not holding up to the sweat, for instance the Beats ear buds have the controller on the chord which does not like sweat a bit and always go out. Now i'm using the Alien Ears that I bought for my motorcycle and they are incredible to say the least! A but pricy at $650 but if your unto sound like I am, they are well worth the money and I highly recommend them.

I have the bose IE2 headphones. They sound great for the price ($100), they're super comfortable, and they're awesome for working out (they don't fall off). They aren't noise isolating ones so if you have them cranked up people will probably hear them. The warranty is kick ass too, the replace them for any reason and after the warranty is up and they break they'll give you 50% off another bose item. One shitty thing is if you're Canadian they charge 20% more for no reason lol.
