      My brother and i had dinner last night. been a very long time just the 2 of us. he was bragging that he was going to go to some hard core survival training course somewhere in the N. California mountains. you know the kind, eating bugs primitive fire making skills ect. (we are competitive, he knew what i would say.)

      i said "not without me dumbass" ............. as i thought to myself, "self, i like a soft bed, good food, and comfortable temperatures..........."

      I am going to have to hike to 6000 feet in elevation in the fall (think 20F at night.) build my own shelter, survive on only what i can find for 3 days and 2 nights and pay a guy to torture me?

      adventure...... that's what i was thinking! i am going to regret my commitment to this, but dammit i will remember it forever.

      Oh my brother also said this was the 1st of 2 courses. the second is in the amazon. next year? ( i hate mosquitoes)

      i did a course a time or two in the military up there where you are talking about and the ones i did lasted 3+ wks and i hated every second of it. imagine going from 240 to 190 in that short amount of time. now with that said i did all of mine in the winter time so if you are going this time of year it isnt going to be that bad wink wink yeah right lol

      I'm sure it'll be a whole lot better watching your brother go through the same things you are. You 2 could team up and destroy that course, walking out of there with a bond much tighter then it has ever been. Very exciting!

      its been years but I used to romp around the northern CA mountains hiking and survival stuff a lot back in the day...there is some amazing country up there...don't let the word "California" fool you...nor cal is nothing like so cal...

      jamaica? what sitting on a beach with a coconut filled with pina colada and a tiny pink umbrella? i am a city boy. i dont do woods. i like fishing and being outdoors but i like a real bed, hot showers, restaurants ect. well i am going to in September. my brother is so stoked he is talking about Canada for the next outing (if there is for me)
