TweetI'm with you Blackfoot but they already have. The TSA infringes our 4th amendment rights every time we fly.
Good post Dzone!

Tweetyeah it is getting pretty unreasonable isn't it. can't get on a plane without damn near gettin strip searched even though they have all these high tech wands, x-ray machines, and what not.
good point my brotha
Tweetwait, flying an airplane is not something that is constitutionally protected, so any search isn't unreasonable.
sorry js, mrs. blackfoot corrected me on this issue... lol!
TweetHell yes, it is completely unreasonable, all in order to look like they are being fair to floks who walk thru an airport wearing a arab type headgear on their head. I mean no disrespect to any islamic bros on here, but hey, lets be fuking reasdonable and say that there is maybe only one time when islamic folks should be wearing a baseball hat, and thats in and airport and on a plane. I can dig your religion, but wearing that religious garb on an airplane is going to make people nervous. Leave religious outfit in the suitcase until you get home.
Then some grandma with white hair and a walker gets strip searched cuz maybe she has metal in her and it could be a bomb.
TweetAhh the Mrs stepped in, I get that one all too often from my Mrs...lol. I'll give it a try anyway...lol.
The Constitution is supposed to be the law of the land, which cannot be trumped by any law. Obviously this is not the case today, as our constitutional rights are being consistently stripped away. But let's assume we have no 4th amendment right in airports because they are under the jurisdiction of the federal government i.e. FAA, then we are in fact trapped in the country and not free to leave unless we forfeit our rights in order to travel outside the country. The TSA is expanding their jurisdiction to trains, buses, interstates (see Tennessee) and soon enough I suspect cruise ships and other vessels. Thus, eventually you will not be able to travel outside or inside the country unless by POV without forfeiting your rights for unreasonable and warrantless searches. I can understand going through a metal detector, but an X-Ray machine and physical pat downs and invasive searches is too far. I travel a lot so I get to experience it far too often and it is ridiculous.
The Bill of Rights was written to protect us from the government. It was written explicitly to dictate what the government cannot do. Notice how all of the first 10 amendments state what the government shall not do. It is a guarantee of certain rights. It does not state that we don't have those rights in government operated facilities or on government owned land. If we are to believe that anywhere the government has jurisdiction that we must waive our rights, then what would stop the government from using the all to common commerce clause to take our rights from us on every square inch of land in our country?
Okay that's my 2 cents on the subject.

It is indeed late, but never too late for a good old constitution discussion, or at least for me anyway...lol. I enjoy the political/historical discussions as I'm sure you've noticed.
