      How many grams of protein can your body absorb at one time? I've heard 30 to 40g but what about all these protein shakes that claim to have 50+ grams?

      What I have mostly read is about 40 but with ginger root 50-60.

      not sure bro ...i mix a shake that has 52 grams and try to drink it up in an hour ..yellowjacket would know the answer

      This is a never ending discussion and its like sucking tit through a sweater...... some say 40 grams, some say 50+, etc. Everyone's body reacts different to amounts of casein, whey, egg, meat, etc proteins. Someone mentioned ginger root and that will aid in absorbtion, but around 40 grams seems to be the general feedback, not that that means anything, Ive been looking for studies, peer review articles, anything pretty much to confirm any amount, still searching.

      Oh and remember, when you take in a protein shake, not all of that protein is bioavaliable enough to be absorbed.

      You cant go from eating the average US diet, then expect your body to absorb, say 50 grams at a time. You have to slowly acclimate yourslef to it. The more you weigh, the more you absorb, or can absorb, eventually. The more muscle you have, the more you can absorb. Taking AAS? YOu can absorb more. So many factors. Its an individual thing. I think the big boy pro BBers, have been eating enough protein, and taking enough AAS to regularly absorb 70g or so a sitting.
